Reporting to the Senior HR Director, Supply Chain and Operations, this role has overall HR responsibility for 8-10 plant locations serving as a key business partner to their assigned locations and Business Unit Manufacturing Director(s). As a strategic partner, the Regional Director of Human Resources aligns business objectives with leaders and employees. The successful Regional Director of Human Resources will act as employee champion and change agent driving Human Capital Initiatives while serving as a trusted advisor on all HR matters. The Regional Director of Human Resources will formulate partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added services to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Accountable for all HR activities in assigned plant locations.
• Partnering with manufacturing leadership, drives Human Capital initiatives for their respective area(s). These programs include the performance management process and calibration, development, and cascading of performance goals, employee engagement survey execution and action planning, human capital review process and strategy development, etc.
• Partners with plant HR teams, talent acquisition and functional leaders to ensure top talent is secured for all open positions.
• Assures compliance with collective bargaining agreements including contract interpretation and disciplinary and grievance process; assists with arbitration case preparation, labor negotiations and other potential legal matters.
• Establishes and analyzes key HR metrics and provides leadership support to ensure business objectives are met.
• Drives a culture of positive employee relations to ensure we maintain union free status, where we are union free, and fosters positive union relationships where collective bargaining agreements exist.
• Provides guidance to leaders regarding employee matters to include performance coaching, Performance Improvement Plans, Individual Development Plans, conducting employee investigations, discipline, termination, etc.
• Responsible for leading, coaching and developing a large team of HR Business Partners in support of overall Human Resources and business strategy.
• Based on the needs of the business, consults with leaders for workforce planning which may include organizational redesign work, retention initiatives, facilitation of a Talent Review/Selection process, job description creation and analysis, promotions, succession planning, etc.
• Responsible for project management of various initiatives and may serve as a team/project leader in Company-wide projects.
• Ensure alignment with the needs of the business in the creation and delivery of HR programs.
• Partners with the Learning and Development department to identify training needs and culture activities.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field
• 10+ years of progressive Human Resource experience
• Multi-plant HR experience
• Employee and Labor relations experience, including union-free exposure
• Demonstrated results that made a difference in the business and HR function
• Demonstrated leadership/talent development
Education and/or Experience Preferred:
• Masters degree
• Combination of Field Operations and Corporate/COE experience
• HR experience in a manufacturing environment
• Labor relations experience, including significant role in contract negotiations (1st or 2nd Chair), arbitrations and grievances
• Prior experience with acquisitions, integrations and/or plant closures
