Practice and Job Description
This role is responsible for working closely with Corporate Affairs and Advisory Services leadership, with a specific focus on Employee Experience advisory and B2B Marketing, to shape and implement the practice’s vision and strategy both internally and externally.
An ideal candidate must have an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to identify business development opportunities for the firm, demonstrate excellent writing and verbal communication skills, be a strategic thinker, excel at detailed analysis and project management, thrive in an independent work environment, show attention to detail and be able to navigate multiple projects and stakeholder groups simultaneously.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Portfolio and Capability Growth
• Understand the business goals of the firm and help implement strategies within the practice toward achieving those goals
• Support local/regional new business efforts by connecting teams with necessary resources, creating practice-specific content (cases, capes, slides) and maintaining a working knowledge of past new business materials for repurposing
• Play a central coordination role in new business activities, potentially helping to shape responses to RFIs/RFPs or serving as Foreperson for pitches
• Assist in identifying new business white space areas and targets, drawing upon the expertise of the network
• Support organic growth by keeping abreast of Edelman capabilities and serving as a resource to GCRM, GCX and other client leads as they look for solutions to client challenges
• Work with regional/global team to identify new/existing tools, products, capabilities and methodologies within the agency to be shared/scaled broadly
• Support in identifying emerging/under-developed capability areas and codifying Edelman solutions with revenue growth potential
Community Building and Knowledge Sharing
• Build strong internal relationships across the network
• Drive best practice sharing
• Serve as a resource to local/regional teams
• Be knowledgeable of resources/expertise in other offices and business units in order to facilitate connections that will improve quality and/or efficiency
• Promote and reward cross-office/region/practice/sector collaboration
• Build morale by celebrating successes
• Partner with leaders to host practice calls and send written communication to update global community on new developments, facilitate knowledge sharing and build community
• Organize periodic in-person leadership meetings, managing agenda, content, logistics and all other aspects of the event
• Develop and coordinate content/modules for employee training
Insights and Marketing
• Maintain a personal working knowledge of global trends related to communications and marketing, Employee Experience and B2B Marketing
• Manage and conduct research, track trends and compile research briefs
• Lead and execute internal and external marketing efforts to position Edelman as a thought leader
• Manage editorial calendar of insightful content for internal and external audiences
• Manage practice social media presence, in partnership with marketing team
• Develop content based on trends, insight and/or Edelman IP
• Identify/secure/optimize conference engagement and speaking opportunities for practice leaders
• Develop speeches and presentations for practice leaders
Operations
• Develop, implement and continuously improve practice processes
• Actively seek and suggest better ways of getting things done across the practice
• Support quarterly reviews of Employee Experience and B2B Marketing business lines and annual planning process
• Oversee practice operating budget and use GFS tools to maintain proper financial processes
• Work with financial manager, quality team and others to analyze and report performance data
• Manage all internal reporting for the practice, working with regional and local counterparts to gather input
• Develop solutions to a wide variety of problems, including those in program management, internal communications and balancing organizational needs
Basic Qualifications:
• At least five years of relevant experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields, including research, advertising, management consulting, public affairs, media or publishing
Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA
• Exceptional secondary and analytical research skills
• Strong process and project management skills
• Knowledge of financial management reporting
• Presentation and plan development experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite – especially PPT
