Description
At OMD, we are providing our clients powerful and innovative media strategies, along with big ideas that are driven by insights. OMD’s our Marketing Science practice is at the forefront of this process, helping to uncover these insights via sophisticated data analysis.
As an associate director at OMD’s Marketing Science team, you will not only work closely with the Directors and the US Directors to manage resources, implement process improvements and provide mentorship to a team of analysts, but also work with the account team consisting of media planners and strategists to shape the strategic direction of your client’s marketing strategy through data-driven insights.
Areas of Responsibility:
• Manage data and reporting needs pertaining to multi-touch attribution platform
• Participating in the measurement plan development and execution
• Establishing self as a thought leader around analytics, research and ad-technology concepts / methods / tools
• Ensuring that analytics efforts lead to clear, compelling and actionable insights; and insightful narratives are constructed through sophisticated analytics techniques
• Anticipating client’s needs and proactively developing solutions to address them
• Ensuring timely follow through on all scheduled and ad hoc deliverables
• Generating and communicating clear, compelling and actionable insights; constructing insightful narratives through sophisticated analytic techniques
• Recommending and implementing research that will aid in the consumer insight gathering and strategic process
• Providing thought leadership of ad-tech and measurement technologies
• Identifying opportunities to continuously improve processes and reporting deliverables
• Leading, mentoring and training analysts
• Presenting reports, POVs and other materials to clients on a regular basis over the phone and in person
• Identifying organic growth opportunities and participate in new business pitches
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, information management, social sciences or business/marketing related fields. Advanced degree (MBA / MS) is preferred.
Requirements
• 6+ years of experience in a quantitative data driven field
• A passion for digital marketing, research and analytics
• Familiarity with utilizing multi-touch attribution (MTA) tools or other advanced analytics modeling solutions (e.g. MMM) to identify optimization opportunities via media mix, investment levels, and/or strategies to maximize revenue and efficiency
• Ability to move beyond descriptive analytics and employ more sophisticated techniques (predictive & prescriptive analytics)
• Comprehensive knowledge of ad technologies and research techniques (how they work, and how to troubleshoot)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work well with others and work in cross functional teams
• Ability to manage and prioritize a number of concurrent tasks
• Ability to clearly explain complex technical ideas to multiple audiences both verbally and in writing
• Ability to set individual goals for analysts and measuring individual success / performance
• Ability to identify issues related to quality of work and/or work load, and re-allocate resources to address these issues
• Leading, mentoring and training analysts
• Delegating and managing projects, creating learning agendas and opportunities for junior staff
Technical Skills
• Experience / familiarity in SAS, SPSS, R, Python or other advanced analytics software packages preferred
• Experience/ familiarity in ad-serving and web analytics tools (Google DFA, Atlas, Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.)
• Experience / familiarity with concepts of database design and SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI
• Experience / familiarity with syndicated research sources/tools (Gfk, MRI, Simmons, Scarborough, IMS, Nielsen, comScore)
• Experience / familiarity with digital ad effectiveness research
• Familiarity with web technologies including HTML and Javascript
