Vice President, Temporary Creative Director (Health)
The Creative Director leads the creative team to bring strategies to life by ideating and developing a platform on which to build written and visual expressions of the concept; seamlessly able to transform the strategic thought into best-in-class creative programming and collateral.
Responsibilities and Expectations
• Develop and deliver creative concepts and ideas, founded in insights, across all platforms for briefs and new business pitches
• Develop work that is consistent with the brand’s personality and will differentiates the client from the competition
• Deliver fresh thinking and innovative creative solutions and relevant, motivating campaigns and platforms
• Develop platform idea and work with planning function to determine parameters for success
• Understand client’s brand and category in order to develop work that is consistent with the brand’s personality and will differentiates the client from the competition
• Recognizing and developing great ideas and pushing them forward – as the cohesive team lead of art directors, copy editors, designers and more to bring the creative process to life
• Works hand-in-hand with senior account lead to see projects from ideas to activation, effectively completing projects of high quality within timeframe and budget
• Work in conjunction with account teams, planners and strategists to direct the visual/verbal expression of brand building ideas to drive media coverage, buzz and brand engagement; present ideas to clients and prospects in a compelling manner
• Effectively lead client presentations with a credible point-of-view
• Work with external agencies (i.e., graphic designers, digital agencies, experiential agencies, etc.) as required, to visualize and bring ideas to life through implementation
• Lead role with clients, with the ability to galvanize a room and have a credible point-of-view with c-suite executives
• Lead all areas of the strategically aligned creative process including conceptual development, writing, art direction, designing and production – within new business and for existing clients
• Mentor teams and direct reports and pushing forward the creative agenda internally
• Understand the concept behind creative work and how it achieves client and business goals
• Keep up to date with innovative creative work across industries; share internal and external best practices with colleagues, inspiring others to be more creative and think in new ways to engage and entertain people
Basic Qualifications
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in an agency setting
Preferred Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Fine Arts, Advertising or Graphic Design preferred
• Relevant agency experience in concept development, art direction or copywriting within an integrated marketing, creative, advertising, or public relations agency setting
• Best in class experience and demonstrated examples of transforming the strategic opportunity into best-in-class creative solutions with a background in concept development, art direction or copywriting
• Aware of the production process for initiatives of various size across multiple media platforms from web, mobile, experiential to social
• Ability to craft and deliver presentations that sell ideas and expand client relationships
• Ability to lead a team of art directors, copywriters and designers while also effectively collaborating with other internal and external teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Understands role that PR and social media play in the overall communications marketing mix In-depth understanding of brand management and the broader overall marketing mix
• Ability to link creativity to strategy
• Winning attitude and proven track record of winning new campaigns/clients across multiple industries
• Proven track record of building effective interpersonal relationships with direct reports, planning, strategy and account management colleagues, leadership and clients, and successfully navigating matrixed organizations
• Strong track record on setting direction and lead ideation of on-brand, forward thinking creative solutions in PR and integrated marketing
• Strong presentation skills, articulating smart and sometimes complex solutions in a straightforward and lucid manner
• Full understanding of production and storytelling through multiple channels, including digital
