OMD: U.S. Group Director
SUMMARY: LEADING OUR CLIENTS INTO THE FUTURE
This Group Director role is one of the most exciting and challenging roles in our organization. The individual who fills this role manages the daily strategic needs of the businesses, integrates with the broader OMD teams, creative partners, media owners, and acts as the leading force ensuring the vision of team/agency comes to life in the work, thought leadership and ideas.
This account will constantly challenge as the brands push us to lead them into new and exciting territories- and to orchestrate strategic approaches around content and data relationships that fuel how the brands navigate all channels today and tomorrow. The candidate must demonstrate a strong appetite for new technology, emerging media, culture and to understand and embrace the passion that the consumer has for our client’s brands. As much as anything, this individual must be able to orchestrate a strategic mix of solutions across social media, content relationships, data strategies, mobile opportunities, and more across the vast and ever expanding digital landscape. The utility box is ever expanding and this person will be key to helping OMD stay ahead of clients, evolving our team / skillsets and leading, not following our competitors.

Problem Solving/diplomacy/coolheaded: clients, partners and even ourselves- are imperfect, but all challenges have solutions. Helping navigate them and/or asking for help from above in a calm manner is key.
Delegation skills- there’s a lot here. Managing this work takes a team clicking on all cylinders.
Hunger for using data: to define strategies, to defend strategies, to uncover new targeting opportunities, to buy more efficiently, to better understand the outcomes we drive for clients.
Build relationships: be present with clients- at their place, at our place, at home, on the road. The more we mirror them, the more they think we work for their company, not ours.
Proactive and Entrepreneurial spirit: finds time to identify new opportunities and bring them to life.
Storyteller: can sell through new ideas, ways of thinking /working to senior clients.
Current: displays some passion for pop culture, trends and motivations in consumer behavior.
Inspires creativity in others/foster an open environment for ideas: challenge the team to solve client’s challenges in unique ways- let them try (and fail where necessary).
Hunger for innovation: our clients want and have some access to truly never-been-done-before opportunities. Helping determine the ‘right’ ones and bringing them to life in impactful ways.
Build relationships with media owners: have an understanding of major platforms and work to uncover new and never been before ideas to better connect our clients with their consumers
EXPERIENCE NEEDED: TRACK RECORD OF LEADERSHIP
• Track record of handling big client ambitions
• Collaborative nature and experience media owners, agency business untints and creative agency partners
• Ability to create and execute an holistic channel approach to planning
• Comfort level with data, analytics and measurement
• Experience managing a team and day to day deliverables
• Can foster and grow talent
• Excels at media fundamentals and can educate all levels
