Mediabrands - Associate Director, Corporate Communications
Position Summary
The Associate Director, Corporate Communications will work closely with the SVP, Corporate Communications in this dual role, with half of her/his time spent implementing the strategy, development, and implementation of all marketing communications and public relations activities, both external and internal for Initiative US and globally and the other half handling the same duties for IPG Mediabrands.
Essential Functions
• Manage corporate communications duties including PR plans, communications/content calendar, press releases, speakers’ bureau, and social media platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.
• Secure and coordinate media interest and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests; optimize press and public relations opportunities.
• Work closely with regional Corporate Communications directors to ensure a consistent and constant Initiative message globally.
• Create and maintain marketing materials including product one sheets, press kits, white papers, presentations, etc.
• Manage content development and calendar, including monthly CEO videos and newsletters, town halls, thought leadership pieces (bylines, blog posts), etc.
• Play integral role on awards strategy and submissions for agency, agency work and talent, working with Strategy Team and Senior Associate, Corporate Communications.
• Manage social media strategy and approach, working with Senior Associate, Corporate Communications.
• Work closely with Director of Events to plan and manage agency, client and industry events.
• Support the adoption of corporate branding and marketing materials alongside Chief Experience Officer.
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor's degree required
Work Experience:
• 7+ years of experience in corporate communications or PR. Broad exposure and holistic understanding of various media strategies and technologies is desirable.
Skills:
• Must have a strong writing background and expert experience with the development of press releases, marketing collateral, and white papers.
• Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities including social media.
• Ability to translate complex technical solutions into easy to comprehend marketing messages.
• High-energy, positive and team-oriented.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple projects at a time.
• Sound business acumen; strategic skills; common sense.
• Keen eye for detail and strong aesthetic sense.
• Outstanding editing skills in Microsoft Office, including Word and Power Point.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or business-related field a plus.
