The Opportunity
We are looking for an inspiring Vice President to join our team. You are an expert in secondary research including social media measurement & digital analytics, ready to challenge yourself and grow your skills in primary research (qualitative and quantitative), and a highly skilled client manager.
Business Leader & Client Relationship Manager
In business, it all starts with relationships. Building relationships both internally and externally will be critical to your success.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
•Creating, building, and nurturing relationships with Edelman teams and external clients to generate new business opportunities and build incremental/existing business.
•Revenue growth and profitability among client accounts to meet the firm’s revenue goals.
•Manage costs and resources across the lifecycle of each new project and manage the overall client relationship.
•Fluently speak the languages of communications, marketing, business, and research – and tailor those communications to audiences of all levels of expertise.
Strategic Business Consultant
Data doesn’t mean anything on its own – it needs to be collected, translated, and communicated effectively in order to realize its value. At Edelman Intelligence, we believe in Big Insights more than “Big Data”. With this in mind for your role, as VP, you will:
•Identify and understand business vs. brand vs. communication objectives in order to design research that delivers insights that drive and measure results.
•Provide strategic counsel to clients throughout all stages of the research process.
•Deliver compelling strategic insights, effectively communicate a narrative/story that provides actionable recommendations for the client that are aligned to their business and communications objectives
Talent Development and Mentoring
At Edelman Intelligence, we value both strategic visionaries as well as pragmatic doers. As a VP, you will lead a team to achieve success and help them grow. Specifically, we expect you to:
•Lead a research team who manages complex research and analytics projects from end-to-end, delivering high quality work on-time and on budget. As a leader, your team members will rely on your guidance, expertise, and your flair at every step of the road.
•Provide inspiring leadership and mentorship for team members. Develop a team that is highly effective, motivated, and client-service orientated.
Who You Are
You have 10+ years of experience in market research, brand and communication consulting, insights creation, strategy development, and/or media research. Further, you have:
•Experience in leading teams with senior consultants (5 years+) and junior consultants. Agency experience preferred.
•Demonstrated experience in various types of research engagements, including but not limited to:
Dominant expertise (must have):
-Social and Media Measurement expert
-Proficient in leveraging monitoring and measurement tools (e.g. Talkwaker, NewsWhip, Sysymos, Radian 6, NetBase, Crimson Hexagon, Cision, BrandWatch…) to social analysis and trend-watching platforms (e.g. QuidTM, Demographics Pro, StatSocial, CrowdTangle…) to third parts database (e.g. Gfk MRI/Doublebase, CEB Iconoculture, Mintel, GWI or ComScore…)
-Web analytics (websidestory, Omniture, Visual Sciences, Google Analytics)
Additional expertise (desirable understanding):
-Audience Targeting, micro-targeting and segmentation
-Public Affairs Issues Awareness & Message Testing
-Crisis/Risk Evaluation and Management
-Corporate/Brand building development and management
-Messaging Testing and Development; Creative and Campaign Evaluation
-Leverage/Use Analytics in your previous work – SEM, mix-modeling, etc.
•Experience in working for multiple brands and/or clients across a diversity of industries at once.
