Account Director, Health & Wellness Public Relations
Overview
Ogilvy │ FKH is seeking an experienced and passionate project and account manager to join our Health & Wellness Group. Our new Account Director will have the innate ability to develop strong client relationships and lead a team to deliver superior client service. The AD will partner closely with other company leaders to provide overall account strategy as well as day-to-day management of client deliverables. As an emerging senior leader, our AD will serve as a counselor to clients and a mentor to other staff members.
Our new AD will have the opportunity to work with innovators and disruptors at the forefront of healthcare innovation. Our uniquely diverse healthcare clients include emerging biotechs, global pharmaceutical companies, government agencies, advocacy groups, medical device and diagnostic companies, policy organizations and more.
Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary client contact for at least one healthcare account, setting and managing client expectations on a day-to-day basis and anticipating needs and developing solutions for clients and senior leadership
• Provide ongoing strategic counsel that reflects deep knowledge and experience in the healthcare industry, with support from senior staff as needed
• Manage account team to ensure work is appropriately delegated to the right staff members within the team structure and project deadlines are on target
• Help nurture and grow junior staff members, including identifying opportunities for professional advancement
• Develop high-level communications materials, ensuring that all materials and correspondence are strategic and meet client’s and account’s objectives
• Establish and maintain relationships with trade and consumer media, providing strategic guidance on media engagement as needed
• Monitor client budgets and financial performance of individual client relationships, including maintaining accurate project budgets and monthly forecasts
• Identify and pursue opportunities for organic growth and participate in new business development, delivering strong analyses, strategy and concepts and demonstrating superb presentation skills
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree in a related field a plus
• 6+ years of experience in public relations; agency experience preferred
• Previous experience in development communications programs for healthcare companies or organizations required; implementation of integrated, cross-functional campaigns for healthcare clients a plus
• Strong writing skills, including the ability to communicate scientific data or information for a variety of audiences
• Strong presentation skills, including the demonstrated ability to play a leadership role in a wide range of presentation settings
• Previous experience in leading effective and productive account teams
