Who we are looking for:
eCommerce is redefining the retail landscape for our clients: major national and global brands. Amazon and Tmall are at the leading edge of this change, but they are not alone. The changes are occurring rapidly but have far reaching consequences. Increasing, our clients are asking us to guide them through the changes that e-commerce and Amazon are causing.
POSSIBLE is seeking an Associate Director, eCommerce Strategy to help serve our clients in our rapidly growing Commerce practice. In this role, you will be a trusted adviser to our clients, helping them set the path for success on Amazon, Walmart, and other eCommerce channels as well as helping them define their own direct to consumer strategy. We are looking for someone with experience in eCommerce but also someone who not only embraces change but makes it happen.
What you’ll do:
• Be the expert and trusted adviser to clients on all eCommerce matters. Provide advice, generate strategy documents, assess competitive developments, and conduct other eCommerce related work.
• Act as primary point of contact for eCommerce services and strategy to the client, including guiding them through execution.
• Help clients develop and implement their eCommerce strategies. Consulting work may include:
◦ Strategy development
◦ Research direction and synthesis
◦ Identification, synthesis, and communication of important trends and consumer behaviors in eCommerce to clients
◦ Organizational design
◦ Assortment planning, merchandising planning
◦ Assessment of digital shelf presence and on-retailer SEO and SEM, especially on Amazon and Walmart
◦ Digital shopper marketing development
◦ Oversight of marketing and paid media performance
◦ Other eCommerce related projects and studies as mutually agreed with the client
• Work collaboratively across client teams that are involved with eCommerce.
• Work collaboratively across the POSSIBLE and WPP teams that support eCommerce.
• Develop internal best practices and knowledge development.
What you’ll need:
• 7+ years of expert experience in eCommerce with distinctive experience in one of several areas:
◦ Amazon experience (i.e. managing leading brands on Amazon or prior Amazon experience growing brands on the platform).
◦ Brand-side eCommerce experience (i.e. working in eCommerce, shopper marketing, or other roles specifically focused on e-commerce).
◦ Retailer eCommerce experience (i.e. experience on an eCommerce team at a major retailer).
◦ Agency or consultancy experience with a clear focus and history of working with brands or retailers in eCommerce.
• Proven consulting experience or client-side experience.
• Passionate about eCommerce and the change its driving across retail for brands.
• Highly collaborative approach to working with teams including teams that involve working with large, global brands.
• Experience working with cross functional clients and across entire organizations.
• Able to craft compelling strategic stories from a variety of qualitative and quantitative inputs.
