This opportunity is critical to the growth and development of the Global Reputation Practice at Edelman, reporting to the Global Chair, Reputation.
The VP, Global Reputation Practice will have the opportunity to:
Portfolio & Practice Area Growth
• Assist the Global Chair in facilitating effective decision-making
• Act as representative of the Global Chair, when required
• Coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives, including when required, new business presentations and pitches
• Track new business and client development initiatives and ensure realistic milestones are set and delivered against
• Support organic growth by keeping abreast of Edelman capabilities and serving as a resource to GCRM, GCX and other client leads as they look for solutions to client challenges
• Coordinate, participate in, and when necessary, lead, meetings of the Practice Area
• Support the development of and manage the Practice staffing and talent development plan
• Develop and coordinate content/modules for employee training
• Support the assessment of new project ideas, determine the proper course of action and work with designated individuals to manage roll-out
• Ensure team and/or staff issues are addressed properly and keep track of progress until resolved
• Provide training and coaching for other team members, when required, including other Edelman staff outside Practice Area
Community Building and Knowledge Sharing
• Develop and manage a plan to deliver effective global Practice Area communications and information sharing, including best practice
• Build strong internal relationships across the network and serve as a resource to local/regional teams
• Recommend Practice Area quality improvements by fully understanding and leveraging resources/expertise in other offices and business units
• Promote and reward cross-office/region/practice/sector collaboration
• Build morale by celebrating successes
• Organize periodic in-person Practice/Sector leadership meetings, managing agenda, content, logistics and all other aspects of the event
Insights & Marketing
• Keep up with industry trends, especially in area of corporate reputation and develop system for sharing new information with global team
• Develop and manage Reputation Practice thought-leadership editorial calendar intended to provide external and internal visibility to senior C&PA leaders at Edelman
• Support the assessment of new project ideas, determine the proper course of action and work with designated individuals to manage roll-out
• Ensure team and/or staff issues are addressed properly and keep track of progress until resolved
• Provide training and coaching for other team members, when required, including other Edelman staff outside Practice Area
Operations
• Oversee the development of the annual operating/fiscal plan and budget for the Practice Area
• Oversee Practice/Sector operating budget, helping Global Chair stay within assigned budget and using GFS tools to maintain proper financial processes
• Develop, implement and continuously improve Practice processes
• Actively seek and suggest better ways of getting things done across the Practice
• Support Global Chair in annual strategic and budget planning process
• Work with financial manager, quality team and others to analyze and report global Practice performance data
• Manage all internal reporting for the Global Practice, working with regional and local counterparts to gather input
• Support new Edelman initiatives to help others adopt and embrace
• Develop solutions to a wide variety of problems, including those in program management, internal communications and balancing organizational needs
• 8+ years’ executive level and agency experience, including within highly matrixed organizations
• Impeccable managerial and interpersonal skills
• Proven track record of effectively interacting with senior management
• Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across multiple offices and teams, globally
• Effective, versatile and action-oriented
• Excellent communication skills
