As Compass Point’s Associate Director of Programmatic Media, you will be responsible for the agency’s programmatic strategy and the technology and tools required to maintain our competitive product offering. You understand the science behind audience segmentation and the effectiveness and relevancy that programmatic media unlocks. You are a programmatic expert with the industry relationships, know-how, technical skills and passion for advancing our clients business across marketplaces and channels (mobile, video, display, social, tv, ooh, etc).
In this role you will be responsible for the following activities:
Management of Odin, Compass Point’s proprietary trade desk and programmatic platform
• Maintain awareness of technology and network players to consistently evaluate and evolve our core partners
• Actively monitor campaigns and provide real-time optimization to ensure pacing and performance meet or beat KPI goals
• Provide insight into trends or observations through absorption in the data and confidence in verbalizing discoveries
• Create performance reports with insights and visualization of data to aid in comprehension and ability to merchandise beyond digital team
• Targeting /audience segment integration
• Ensure transparency of rates and performance to planning partners and clients
Advancement of programmatic strategy
• Advance learning agenda and testing plans for AdvancedTV and programmatic media across channels (in partnership with broadcast buyers and analytics)
• Development of client-specific bidding strategies
• Support for planners on how/when programmatic best fulfills campaign objectives vs other buying and negotiation approaches
Operations and Technology
• Training of programmatic strategists and traders
• Streamlined, timely budget reporting and forecasting
• Ability to integrate 1st and 3rd party data providers
• Evolve business model to support ongoing profitability, increased utilization by clients and flexible models to adjust scope to need
Required Experience:
What You Need To Succeed
• Bachelor’s Degree in communications, advertising, marketing, computer science or business administration
• 8-10 years digital experience, with five years specifically geared towards programmatic experience
• Ability to inform, track and report on key business metrics (i.e. impressions, clicks, CPC, CPC, view-through, ROI, conversions, CPA)
• Skilled collaborator with strategy teams
• Strong communication skills and ability to present insights and analysis to be best understood by your audience
• Understand how media channels are most effective and communicate tradeoffs between strategies and tactics
• Deep knowledge and experience with Demand Side Platforms (DSP), Ad Servers, Supple Side Platforms and Paid Social analytics platforms
• Experience with analytics platforms and other business intelligence tools
◦ Attitudinal measurement tools (i.e. Dynamic Logic, Infegy, Atlas, Brand Index)
◦ Web analytics tools (Omniture, WebTrends, HBX, Google Analytics), Ad servers (Atlas, DART)
◦ Database integration, analytics and visualization tools (Alteryx, MySQL, SQL Server, MS Access, Tableau, Excel)
• Proven ability to integrate analytics media optimization and analytics
• Expertise in Excel an utilization of formulas, pivot tables, trending charts and template building
