VP, Director Programmatic
Data-driven, programmatic media buying will represent nearly 75% of the marketplace in 2017—and as this grows, so does DigitasLBi’s world-class team of programmatic specialists. They’re responsible for keeping a pulse on the constantly evolving media landscape, where Display, Video, Mobile and Native are all increasingly addressable, and they stay on top with a deep understanding of software platforms, data and targeting strategies and analytical skills.

What you’ll do:
This role offers a unique opportunity for a veteran digital media star to actively drive performance for some of the largest brands on the planet. You will be responsible for making a real difference in our clients’ business—and our own.
As VP, Director Programmatic, you will serve as the primary point of contact for an agency/client team. You will be responsible for defining agency-wide strategic objectives and strategies, and providing strategic thought leadership on process, audience strategies, campaign optimization, and the growth of programmatic at DigitasLBi. You will drive the value proposition of DigitasLBi for the media team, identifying educational needs and overseeing the delivery of targeted educational programs.
The VP, Director Programmatic oversees a full programmatic team, monitoring each individual’s performance, utilization, and career growth. It is the VP’s responsibility to ensure that all applicable programmatic techniques and technologies are deployed for optimal campaign performance.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in digital media buying, with a focus on addressable Display, Video, Social, Search, and Mobile campaign management. The role requires strong analytical thinking ability, excellent presentation skills, experience managing and coaching direct reports in a rapid growth environment, and deep experience in the DSP and exchange-based media buying industry.
As a DigitasLBi thought leader, the VP, Director Programmatic must possess a strong inner drive to redesign the digital communications landscape, to engage and challenge some of the finest minds in the industry, and to further develop a new type of media entity for DigitasLBi that seamlessly integrates technology and strategy.
Day-to-day, your role includes:
• Serve as an expert on all aspects of the planning and campaign management processes, RTB, exchanges, and ad networks
• Oversee the client services team by reviewing strategies, process, campaign results, and overall success of client relationships
• Interface with agency media teams to communicate service offerings, assist with complex campaign setups, and identify and deliver new solutions in a collaborative fashion
• Ensure the Client Services team is aware of key client opportunities, potential risks, and other nuances that affect the health of the business
• Define and drive adoption of best practices in the addressable media space
• Lead regular sessions to share and learn new strategies for optimizing and enhancing campaign performance
• Complete forecasting exercises for senior management
• Participate in regular financial and operational meetings with senior management
• Collaborate with Tech, Data, and Inventory partners to ensure that features, assets, and other elements necessary to successfully utilize their products are properly executed and delivered in a timely fashion
• Serve as a point of escalation for campaign, strategic, and relationship challenges with clients
• Oversee training, mentoring, and development of direct reports
• Embrace and encourage a culture based on teamwork, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity
We’re looking for strong, impactful work experience, which typically includes:
• Four-year college degree
• 10-12 years work experience
• 8+ years of strategic planning/campaign management experience in online advertising or direct marketing
• 4+ years with increasing responsibility within an agency or media company
• 4+ years of people managing experience, managing 5+ reports in an account management/client services team
• Expertise in interactive media planning and buying elements
• Firm understanding of RTB and exchange-based media buying
• Experience managing a cross-industry (Auto, Financial Services, Retail, etc.) buying team
• Experience in Display, Video, Social, and Mobile programmatic media buying
• Experience with advanced digital ad serving technology
• Strong analytical thinking and mathematical skills
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Ability to organize and manage detail work, as well as work independently and balance multiple tasks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office solutions
