OUR TEAM
The Director of Marketing for Emerging Brands will provide overall marketing direction, strategy and support for the Emerging Brands Market (EMB). The person in this role will be the market-facing partner for Catalina’s Sales and Product teams and will report to the Market leader on a dotted line basis while directly reporting to the corporate Head of Marketing. This role requires the ability to think strategically and translate trends, market-drivers and related ideas and concept, into practical effective execution, including the ability to proactively identify key topics within the industry and align them with opportunities to position and promote Catalina solutions and/or thought leadership content.
This position will work with the Solutions, Operations, Analytics and Sales teams to create awareness and demand for the Catalina’s EMB-centric solutions; develop positioning and messaging; develop and execute all national and local product marketing initiatives; launch new products and services; support the sales team on sales calls, client presentations, industry knowledge; be the subject matter expert on the CPG market and Catalina’s differentiation; provide content for the creation of collateral and promotional materials and sales training; and work effectively with other areas of Marketing and other internal functions, as well as direct outside agencies and other vendors.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Development and/or support of Market and highly effective positioning and messaging for all related products, services and strategies
• Development of an annual marketing plan reflected in quarterly & annual marketing calendars
• Leads development of high-quality EMB marketing assets
• Evangelize the brand and related products/services to all external and internal audiences to create demand and awareness for our EMB-centric solutions
• Track and analyze competitors’ marketing strategies, tactics, positioning, products and capabilities to ensure effective and differentiated positioning for products/services
• Ensure that Sales, Operations, Analytics, Sales Support, and other employees are fully informed about marketing and communications programs, product information, etc.
• Obtain voice of the customer/prospect and other input to ensure awareness of market challenges and problems that buyers need solved
• Leads planning & implementation for EMB at industry events
• Informs Solutions of needed product requirements and customer requests
• Plays strategic role in defining how products and solutions are presented to the market
• Participates in product pricing strategy
• Owns messaging and positioning for products
• Manages EMB PR; develops PR & media content delivery for products and related solutions; develop and execute social media marketing plans based on understanding of consumer, customer, and channel or market trends.
• Identifies and contributes to thought leadership topics
• Enables sales and their readiness to bring products and solutions to customers through development of appropriate tools
• Promotes solutions and products among influencers: analysts, media and social influencers
• Owns marketing aspects of product & solution launches
• Supports sales in the field on client calls and with client presentations and in trade show presentations
• All other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• 10 years in progressive B2B Product or Solution Marketing roles
• Deep market knowledge and expertise in the CPG space.
• Well versed and up to date on current digital marketing strategies (SEO, PPC, retargeting, SEM, e-commerce, digital marketing automation, etc.)
• A proven self-starter with excellent organizational skills, who thrives in a fast-paced work environment and is capable of delivering exceptional work product under time constraints
• The ability to articulate a vision and strategy in a way that inspires and motivates a team and focuses their energy on achieving business goals
• The ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes
• Superlative writing skills, including the ability to craft powerful, engaging, and broadly accessible messages
• A track record of performance excellence meeting targets and objectives
• Strong analytical and planning skills
• Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
• Track record of managing agency and other vendors
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Public Relations, Communications or closely related field is strongly preferred
• MBA preferred
