Overview
Director, Marketing Data Architect
The Director, Marketing Data Architect is responsible for maintaining and continued development of BioPharm’s data warehouse (MS SQL Server/Azure), reporting platform (currently Tableau), as well as interfacing with BioPharm’s CRM system (SalesForce Marketing Cloud).
The ideal candidate has experience managing data warehouses, various sources, and multiple stakeholders. This person will have a proven track record of maintaining an environment and leading new development efforts. To be successful in this role you will need to balance technical expertise and interfacing with business users to enhance the current state and inform the future state of the platform.
Core Responsibilities:
• Leads BioPharm’s “Insights 360” data warehouse and reporting platform
• Tasked with overall functionality, maintenance, and development of the current environment including documentation, and training
• Drive innovation and advancement of the platform into the future, spearheading the use of modern big data technologies to unlock new analytic capabilities, including management of requirements definitions, user acceptance testing, and prototyping
• Responsible for overall vision, priorities, and budget
• Meet regularly with internal stakeholders to ensure platform adequately supports business needs with data, analytics, and insights
• Development strategic roadmap to meet the needs of the business with a forward-looking view
• Advance the overall data model to optimize data structures to efficiently deliver more diverse analytics
• Prioritize and manage projects across internal stakeholders, team members, and vendors to align with overall vision while ensuring deadlines are met and users are up-to-date on deliverables and expectations
• Continuously audit the platform end-to-end and identify areas for improvement, control breaks, quality issues, and user experience issues
• Become a subject matter expert on various data sources and how they relate to business processes
• Responsible for ad-hoc support items as needed
• Develop, implement and maintain reliable data access and visualization portals
• Develop data visualization / BI solutions to provide insights in an easy-to-use, stable environment
• Apply/learn Tableau, Power Bi, or other tools
• Organize and manage reports structure for easy access and use
• Manage client ETL processes
• Collaborate with operations, clients, and data vendor to develop and maintain an efficient ETL process
• Be point-person between BioPharm and 3rd parties on all data questions, communication, relationships, and data interfacesArchitect solutions and write Business Requirements Documentations for customized client projects that interface with client data, the BioPharm Datamart, and BioPharm’s Marketing Platform
Qualifications
• Requires technical understanding of key aspects of current architectures regarding Data Integration, Metadata, Data Warehousing, Reporting & BI product suites
• Demonstrated experience optimizing performance and availability of large systems
• Strong desire to learn and understand the business and the data that drives it
• Excellent organizational, planning, interpersonal, problem solving skills are required
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation necessary
• Very good understanding of data and analytics tools and industry trends
• Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
• Excellent command of the SQL language within Microsoft Azure environment
• Experience with SalesForce Marketing Cloud a plus
• Ability to balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of individual decisions
• A minimum of seven years of related experience working in enterprise data environments
• Bachelor’s degree is required. Computer Science or related subject and advanced degree is a plus.
