OUR TEAM
The Executive Director, Public Relations plays a critical role on the Catalina Marketing team to elevate the external perception and relevance of Catalina. The Marketing team works cross-functionally partnering with Market leaders, Solutions leaders, Technology, Sales, and event teams to facilitate the development of marketing projects, events and programs. Reports to Head of Marketing, and part of the Marketing Leadership Team. The Marketing team is focused on being a dynamic part of Catalina’s transformation. Our focus is to shift the perception and relevance of Catalina by bringing to life our value proposition, our solutions and launch of a new category.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Lead day-to-day public relations activity for Catalina Corp and Markets (US Retail, US Emerging Brands, US Established Brands)
• Ideate and implement strategic and creative communication campaigns for corporate and Market initiatives.
• Maintain and develop relationships with media (industry, business and consumer) to deliver increased quality and quantity of article placements and reprints. Additionally, enable Catalina being a leading source for influential industry topics.
• Responsible for leading development of corporate and Market press releases from inception until news crosses the wire. Partners with PR agency for development
• Responsible for Q&A that accompany press releases
• Responsible for the development of a quarterly communication highlights document to utilize with investors for top to top meetings
• Point person for external communication plans related to a crisis
• Develop and manage media statements coordinating with key executives and nurturing executives to be media ready
• Manage company image with key market press (Tampa/St Pete, Chicago, Boston and San Jose).
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Concentration in public relations, journalism, communications or marketing preferred
• 10+ years of relevant experience with increasing levels of responsibility in public relations; some corporate experience required
• Strong leadership skills
• Holds existing media relationships
• Ability to media train executives
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven knowledge of public relations and marketing
• Highly creative in developing communication launch plans
• Experience launching products or services
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS
• Master’s degree
• Experience with PR Newswire
