MARKETING SCIENCE DIRECTOR
A client consultant and subject matter expert in all aspects of empirical practice, the Director works closely with agency colleagues to identify, prioritize and address clients’ business needs. This requires solid knowledge of all five sub-disciplines (tracking and measurement, data visualization, testing and evaluation, data integration and statistical modeling), and deep expertise in at least two of these with solid contribution two others. Directors are expected to develop deep understanding of clients’ categories and to work closely with others to craft custom data practice for their clients. They are responsible for identifying, prioritizing and delivering on opportunities to grow clients’ businesses. The Director also manages and develops a team of analysts. This includes management of their work priorities, timelines, deliverables and training. Directors are responsible for exposing analysts to all Marketing Science sub-disciplines and developing expertise as appropriate for team development and client needs.
Responsibilities
• Expert understanding of data, data management, data infrastructure and marketing applications of same
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Proven team and project management skills including training and staff development
• Clear understanding of the role of empirical practice in digital experience design and optimization
• Consistent track record of timely delivery including complex projects involving multiple stages, components and contributors
• Expertise in creative problem solving, process improvement and methodological design
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 5+ years in the online measurement industry, 10+ years in the marketing industry.
• 5+ years managing teams or direct reports
• Insatiable curiosity
• Sense of humour
• Strong collaboration, project management and team building skills (with internal and external teams)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to harmonize teams and effectively communicate to creative, tech, media, project management, account and client teams.
• Mentoring and management skills for mid-level and junior team members
• Ability to distill large quantities of information into clear and concise insights, formulating actionable recommendations
• Able to articulate ideas and concepts in visually interesting, compelling ways
• An understanding that each project and problem requires a fresh approach
• A proficiency with the current issues and trends within the online marketing industry, emphasis on emerging media and mobile platforms
