POSITION:
Weber Shandwick seeks a Vice President or Sr. Vice President to increase the use of analytics in our work, from planning through execution, and to collaborate with a growing team of senior regional and global analytics and planning leads to establish Weber Shandwick as an industry leader in analytics. This role will focus specifically on building out the agency’s integrated media research and analytics capabilities to support account teams in our San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle offices. Primary responsibilities will include championing, advancing and accelerating the use of data and advanced analytics in communications both within Weber Shandwick and at the industry level through thought leadership activities.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establish a robust analytics capability to support offices in the western region by recruiting, cultivating and training analytics talent (both within Weber Shandwick and through appropriate partnerships) to plan and execute audience and media analytics assignments
• Work closely with firm, regional, practice and other discipline leaders in identifying opportunities and reducing barriers to advancing the use and sophistication of analytics in our San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle offices
• Contribute to the development of new analytics tools and techniques to establish and further analytics differentiation for the agency in the region and beyond
• Maintain deep knowledge and points-of-view on cutting-edge technologies, tools, platforms, and partners relevant to integrated media analytics—including overseeing and/or participating in the rollout of new technologies and partnerships to relevant teams
• Provide hands-on consultancy, collaboration and support to clients and project teams in designing, staffing, and delivering analytics work
• Contribute to business development and growth (both new client and organic growth) through the use of analytics in proposal development, as well as by designing and selling specific analytics solutions to clients
• Lead thought-leadership efforts around the use of analytics in communications and marketing, both inside and outside of Weber Shandwick
Qualifications
The person who can deliver on these responsibilities will have the following skills and knowledge:
• 10-12 years of related professional experience
• Talent development experience and skill in building, leading, coaching, and motivating analyst teams
• Working knowledge of advanced statistics and data modeling techniques, including regression and classification techniques, as well as use of techniques and tools appropriate for analysis of both structured and unstructured data
• Ability to derive relevant insights from diverse sources of data, both qualitative and quantitative, including published sources, syndicated data, and proprietary data, and then translating those insights into specific media strategies and recommendations
• Ability to design research and analyses to test specific hypothesis around optimal communications creative and channel mix
Technical Skills
Ideal candidates will have technical experience with:
• Social listening and community management tools such as Sysomos, Radian 6, Brandwatch, Visible, Spredfast, Sprinklr;
• Owned channel reporting platforms such as Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, Pinterest Analytics, Shareablee and SimplyMeasured;
• Primary site analytics platforms Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics;
• Search analytics tools SEMRush, Linkdex, Google Keyword Planner, Bing Ads Intelligence;
• Syndicated media and digital market trends databases Simmons, comScore, Nielsen, Global Web Index, eMarketer
• Machine learning and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R)
• Dashboard and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Domo)
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in relevant areas of study such as Communications, Marketing, Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics
