McCann Detroit is looking to hire an Account Director with automotive B2B industry background to provide leadership and overall management of the Client relations on assigned account. The Account Director the primary contact to the Client’s senior marketing staff and is also responsible for driving short/long term business development of marketing and business strategy, oversee the Account team management, and may have overall accountability for budgets and planning. This position is the backbone of a fast-moving high-energy team.
Accountabilities:
• Understands the essential dynamics, strategies and drivers of their client’s business
• Shapes and drives direction and activity on a given piece of business; recognizes and advances big ideas
• Monitors and projects marketing and advertising issues
• Ability to work in a fast-turn, high-complexity environment
• Demonstrates accountability for agency performance
• Uses Agency resources creatively to support client’s business
• Able to manage partner agency relationships and build a team dynamic across functions
• Ensures overall quality of work on their accounts
• Manages client expectations, objectives, and timelines
• Recognizes, works through and resolves conflict situations (internally and externally)
• Builds and maintains senior-level relationships at the client and within the agency
• Acts as a resource to team members in assessing ideas and directions
• Facilitates ideas from development to presentation to execution
• Responsible for presentations, POV’s, etc.
• Coaches, involves, and inspires the growth and development of junior Agency staff
• Reaches beyond their scope of work and seeks input from untraditional sources
Required Skills:
Requirements:
• 10+ years of Account Management experience in developing and activating advertising/marketing plans in the automotive industry; B2B experience would be a plus.
• Must have at least 5+ years of experience leading and managing a team.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related is preferred.
• Experience creating and producing print, signage, OLA, site is a must. Broadcast experience ideal. A general understanding of social and CRM would be a plus.
• Experience working with strategy – channel and brand.
• Must be able to move fast and juggle lots of projects at once (not just a delegator), but also know when to slow down, engage strategy and build the brand.
• Must be able to develop and write strong POVs. In writing = deck creation. Be a strong presenter.
• Will be required to travel locally for client meetings
• Must be able to diplomatically command attention, take charge of any situation, and instill confidence in teams and clients.
