Strategy Director – CPG
New York City, NY
The Role
We are looking for a Strategy Director to join our team here in NYC. This person will help to develop and lead the strategic vision for a well-known global CPG brand. You will be essential to the continued success of our creative work, which is fully integrated across experiential, social, digital and traditional.
The Team
The McCann Strategy department is a collective of 45 brave, nimble and smart individuals whose experience is as varied as their strategic approach. Our goal is to create work that allows brands to play a meaningful role in consumers’ lives.
What you will do…
• Develop strategies and global market initiatives for a well-known, award winning CPG brand.
• Astutely shape and leverage innovation for the brand.
• Infuse your brand, digital, social, comms, data and experiential expertise into the briefing process to keep the brand at the forefront of culture.
• Active involvement further upstream with the brand and new product development.
• Take ownership of the quality of the creative brief and briefing process.
• Partner closely with your counterparts in Creative, inspiring fresh, original ideas that are rooted in culture, and in human and business insight.
• Develop strong working relationships with your counterparts in Account, and with Clients, forming the basis of trust and action to move those creative ideas from theory to reality.
• Lead strategic thought of partner agencies active on business.
Who you will be…
• 8+ years of agency experience required
• A track record of brilliant thinking that leads to unexpected, truly creative work
• Proactive, curious, self-motivated
• Collaborative with creative and account management leads, with partner agencies and clients
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area required
