Weber Shandwick's Boston office is currently seeking a talented and proactive Account Director in our corporate practice to provide account support and management across a range of clients. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer and possess strong client leadership and media relations background. Ideally, the Group Manager/Account Director should have prior experience leading day to day integrated communication activities at a PR agency.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the execution of integrated (earned & paid media, social/digital content) client programs
• Manage internal teams and resources
• Lead proactive, strategic media outreach to a range of tier 1 and trade media
• Collaborate with senior internal agency staff to develop strategy and ensure client deliverables are being met
• Provide daily, strategic client counsel and expertise
• Secure speaking engagements and awards to meet a variety of client needs
• Ongoing and proactive monitoring, adjustment and analysis of communication strategies and programs
• Understand unique client issues and quickly develop a framework for addressing challenges
• Insure client strategy aligns with agency output
• Report project progress, assess new or emerging issues, and provide options for risk mitigation
• Oversee team monitoring issue development
Qualifications:
• 7 – 9 years' experience in a corporate-focused public relations role at a public relations, integrated, or interactive agency
• Experience in crisis/issues management communications
• Experience supporting and managing large clients/issues/initiatives and driving innovative, integrated programs
• Client relationship management
• Independent research and data collection
• Issue framing
• Intellectually curious
• Proven written and communications skills in crisis situations
• Proven expertise in combining traditional and online communications strategies, including social media
• Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish with minimal oversight
• Ability to complete competing priorities in a timely and thorough fashion
• Experience working with creative and digital team
• Success in participating in the new business process
• Familiarity and comfort working with senior-level clients
• Experience managing teams
