Senior Director, Technology

Responsibilities also include:
• Proactively developing and growing senior and C-suite level client relationships, and acting as a trusted advisor.
• Leading large client relationships and developing overall communications programs for these clients.
• Developing and leading new business efforts of significant size.
• Counseling and building relationships with peers in the industry and with other lines of business.
• Proactively managing client expectations to ensure all issues impacting client satisfaction are addressed.
• Playing a lead role in developing staff and cultivating talent at all levels by creating succession plans and career tracking as well as providing mentorship and serving as coach for training and on-boarding.
• Addressing staff performance issues proactively.
• Raising the visibility and enhancing the reputation of the firm externally through activities such as published articles or speaking engagements.
• Enhancing the firm’s intellectual capital by driving innovation, developing new products and services, and leveraging the firm’s strategic Evidence-Based Communications platform.
• Integrating new digital products and services in new business offerings.
Required
• Minimum of 15 years of previous public relations work experience.
• An in-depth understanding of the client’s business and challenges.
• Ability to manage complex relationships diplomatically and consultatively.
• Ability to think innovatively and develop creative solutions and new programs.
• Ability to manage teams and individuals to enable them to perform to their fullest potential.
• Creative and strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, in-depth analytical skills, and the ability to take a long-term perspective.
• An entrepreneurial approach to business acquisition and proven success in driving new business.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Qualified candidates need to be able to lead large client relationships, they need to be strategic, organized and able to manage a team to execute well. You will be partnering with clients to set direction and expectations to get the most out of the team (including training them where necessary) to get results.
• New business skills are important, whether you’re selling to existing clients or attracting net-new clients. We are a quickly growing practice with a heavy focus on new business.
• This person will need to be proactive in raising and resolving issues and working in concert with the Tech senior leadership team in doing so.
• A key responsibility will be managing and developing talent across the practice. Having a good handle on best practices and the organizational skills to steadily strengthen and develop our talent is key.
• A plus would be digital/social media experience and expertise with integrated (paid/earned/owned) campaigns.
