PPC Account Director (Paid Search)
Job Introduction
The PPC Account Director will provide strategic leadership in PPC for high profile UK brands in order to maximise income and profit from the relevant account portfolio. To lead, inspire and develop Search Account Managers and PPC account teams in order to deliver best-in-class PPC implementation to our clients
Role Responsibility
Integration
• Ensure working process between PPC and account teams to ensure integrated performance planning.
PPC Strategy – including:
• Act as strategic lead for all PPC accounts within defined responsibility.
• Ensure integration of PPC strategies with other media channels, both digital and ATL.
• Work closely with other Search Account Directors and PPC Operations Directors in the London office
• Work closely with client leadership team and planning teams across Opco’s.
Account Management – including:
• Own the relationship with senior clients across PPC accounts.
• Oversee development of annualised PPC account plans for clients.
• Act as final point of escalation for all client servicing issues within teams.
• Oversee core client business handling by Search Account Managers.
• Ensure quality of implementation for PPC working to a defined process.
Product Development - including:
• Oversee operational process to ensure the smooth delivery of PPC offering.
• Test and deploy search technology and suppliers.
• Produce and/or contribute to research pieces and POV’s as required.
New Business – including:
• Participate in PPC pitches including RFI/RFP responses and pitch meetings.
• Work with the PPC Operations Directors to identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell other performance media channels offered
Performance Management – including:
• Ensure that each member of the team has annual objectives and a PDP to focus on personal and professional training, development and education
• Ensure delivery of minimum performance standards across the team
• Ensure each team member achieves and maintains appropriate practitioner certification (e.g. , Adwords, GAP, DS, Marin etc)
The Ideal Candidate
Professional Skills:
• Extensive and deep experience in PPC is required
• Experience in other areas of digital marketing is an advantage
• Experience of managing large, complex PPC accounts across different vertical markets (e.g. Finance, automotive, technology, travel)
• Experience of managing and developing high-performing PPC teams, including senior PPC practitioners
• Strong strategic thinker with experience of providing PPC leadership & innovation and acting as a ‘Trusted Advisor’ to senior clients
• Confident and articulate presenter, with the ability to present to senior clients and internal agency teams
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage profitability and income across multiple accounts
• Experience of working with best-in-class PPC technology platforms and articulating the tech value proposition to senior clients and procurement teams
• Understanding of the communications planning process and channel marketing mix, including the application of attribution and econometric modelling
• Passion for digital with understanding of SEO, social media advertising, mobile, performance display/RTB and affiliate marketing
