The Role:
The Senior Vice President will lead on a variety of primary research projects and accounts (often integrated with secondary projects), as well as leading the primary team. They will also manage collaborations with Edelman teams such as Brand, Technology, Health, Corporate and Public Affairs, and be responsible for generating business and revenue.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-growing global market research firm, specialising in providing strategic insights and advice on brand communications, corporate reputation and innovative consumer insights.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leading teams working on multiple research projects concurrently across a variety of sectors and methodologies:
◦ Quantitative research design, project management and analysis
◦ At least an interest in qualitative research, but ideally also able to design and conduct qualitative fieldwork and analysis
◦ Interest in more innovative research methods, particularly online communities and other digital research skills
◦ An understanding of secondary research
• Developing new business, and major global and strategic research projects, managing the end to end process
• Monitor financial expenditure/fee income/business growth as applicable; actively contribute to the Agency’s profitability
• Client relationship management
• Line management, and mentoring of more junior staff (team of 1-8 people)
• Sharing new industry information, new research techniques and best practice across the team
• Effectively deliver tasks against deadlines and set targets
• Design and deliver high level, engaging and insightful presentations to clients
Key Candidate Requirements
• Proven experience in superior quantitative research, NPD/innovation, segmentation, brand positioning and/ or communications development
• Solid ad hoc questionnaire design experience
• Proven experience undertaking qualitative research, including conducting in-depth interviews.
• Previous Leadership experience is a necessity including line management, budget planning and management, and managing the end to end process for major research projects
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong numeracy skills
• Proficient IT skills and good knowledge of the MS office suite- Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Well versed in social media, both personally and professionally
• High level of organisation and time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and respond to urgent requests
• Superior report writing and client presentation skills, including the ability to boil down a complex project to a concise presentation that tells the story and provides recommendations
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to lead on this, using visual storytelling.
