Overview
As a Business Development Director, you will have the responsibility to establish a rich and well-qualified pipeline of potential new clients. Primary focus will be on Solo, Club and Continuity, offers including Financial and Insurance. You will solicit, principally via telephone, potential customers to join the I-Behavior Co-operative database and utilize all KBM Group products and services that fit your client’s needs. You should understand each customer’s company mission, campaign strategy and all channel marketing objectives. This role reports to the VP of Business Development and can be located remotely.
Responsibilities
• Close assigned quota each month
• Make 15 to 20 cold calls per day
• Maintain an accurate pipeline report in CRM at all times
• Transition all closed business in a seamless and timely manner to the Merchant Services team
• Must have a positive attitude, work collaboratively in team environment, be assertive, and aspire to be the best
• Understand each customer’s marketing objectives, campaign strategy and other co-op participation
• Identify, develop, and lead strategic efforts to sign large publishers and political marketers
• Provide strategic insight, thought leadership and innovation to potential new clients
• Prepare weekly pipeline reports for distribution and join weekly pipe review team calls
• Travel required to meet expectations of position
• Attend a minimum of 4 conferences a year
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 years experience in business development role with a direct marketing organization
• Experience in Solo, Club and Continuity, Financial or Insurance field a plus
• Experience and proven performance in direct marketing
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
• Prefer backgrounds on client side or serving clients in related industries: solo, continuity, publishing, not for profit, catalog, retail, and e-commerce
• A hands-on, self-directed individual with strong interpersonal skills that thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
• Ability to take direction, manage tasks, and make good decisions with minimal supervision
• Have excellent communication, presentation and listening skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Be flexible and resourceful
