Job Introduction
Carat Global which is part of Dentsu Aegis Network, is looking for an Account Director to join their account management team. The purpose of the role is to:
• Work collaboratively with clients and colleagues across local markets within Dentsu Aegis Network to service global client needs
• Manage the sharing and best practice within client and agency communities
• Become familiar with global Scope of Works, commercials, and bonus structure to ensure fulfilment of financial growth targets for global clients, Philips and PMI
• Deliver the best audience knowledge for clients
For Philips the role purpose is to:
• Lead the Health & Wellness and Female Beauty Categories
• Lead Insights and Analytics projects with Dentsu Aegis Network parties across all Philips categories
• Apply, test and adjust the Philips12 step planning process when applicable
◦ More specifically assist with crafting the Consumer Decision Journey in the Insights & Strategy phase to deliver an integrated Media Ecosystem
• Manage the process of work centrally for these categories. This includes engaging from global client initial briefing through to workshops and hand-off of tactical implementation to local markets
• Co- lead planning workshops with strategists and host various trainings for Philips clients (both on a scheduled and ad hoc basis) when applicable
For PMI the role purpose is to:
• Oversee the governance work stream
• Manage 20+ markets global to local communication, ensuring service levels and media delivery
• Centrally manage media plan and budget reporting standards across markets (e.g KPI’s, analysis and implications)
• Understand and mandate compliance with local media regulations across the globe
• Supervise and ensure financial protocol is adhered to (e.g. PO’s in DDS)
Role Responsibility
• Managing the Business: Support the delivery of multiple work streams on Philips and PMI in order to meet client expectations
• Project Management: Support the delivery of ways of working and on boarding new markets
◦ Global project management ensuring agreed projects run smoothly and deadlines are met
◦ Support local teams in creating planning and ideation sessions with relevant Dentsu Aegis Network stakeholders to deliver on agreed strategy
◦ Identify trends and generate insights across markets that can inform the strategic direction
◦ Full knowledge of Dentsu Aegis Network planning tools and processes (CCS, CCS Planner, Convergence Planning etc.) and understand when these should be implemented in the planning process
• Relationship Management: Supporting the delivery of outstanding client service for central clients and working with Client Lead/President and Client Partner to deliver according to appropriate contact strategy and client service plan
• Client Knowledge: Demonstrate a good understanding of the client’s products, services, evolution vision and targets
• Proactive Client Development: Support the team in identifying opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell across the DAN network
• Best Practice: Delivering and sharing best practice as appropriate with wider team and markets
• Collaboration:Demonstrate the ability to cultivate strong relationships across local markets/operating companies to ensure that work is delivered on time and to high quality
The Ideal Candidate
Client & Project Management Knowledge at a Global Level
• Experience working on global strategy and campaigns in markets around the world
◦ Global experience required (experience managing 15+ markets minimum)
◦ Local market experience essential to advise markets successfully (specifically North America as New Business Area)
• Collaborator that brings local, regional, and global teams together for decision making (including Global and Local clients, Global and Local DAN, as well as other media partners)
• Proven capability of managing timings and deadlines accordingly for global communications
• Experience working with client in-house specialty teams, specifically research, insights, and analytics to drive MROI
• Solid understanding of the impact of each area of the DAN on clients’ business
◦ Dentsu Aegis Network agency structure and proprietary tools experience a plus
• Global Media Partnership collaboration experience (e.g. Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc.)
• Strong marketing and business client leadership (>2 years) through relationship-building that thinks and acts proactively to create regular contact opportunities with clients by sharing information, experience and insights to build trust and mutual respect
Media, Insights, and Strategy Skills
• Overall, minimum 5 years’ experience working in a media agency or a related position
• Thorough media and particularly digital media planning understanding
• Solid understanding of media budgeting, ROI, and portfolio management for large global clients
• Data and analytics knowledge – specifically with creating audience segmentations, data fusions and audience profiles
◦ Social listening and search a plus, including writing queries, analysing the data, and providing recommendations
• Experience using proprietary research along with other first, second, & third party data to create actionable insights and uncover meaningful trends for clients
• Skill to analyse numerical data and extract reasonable and rational conclusions to underpin innovative strategic plan
• Strong marketing, media and communications concepts, models, skills, practices, tools, frameworks, etc.
• Sound knowledge of all Dentsu Aegis Network services and proprietary products a plus (specifically CCS suite)
Other Related Skills
• Knowledge of technology and innovation led brands a plus
• New business experience with working on global pitches
• Works well with partner agencies and media owners across the globe to deliver the best output for the client (e.g. creative, search, social, PR, etc.)
• Strategic thinker that considers out of the box responses in regards to presenting innovative solutions to client challenges
• Excellent communicator: verbal, written, presentation, listening skills with internal and external stakeholders both senior and junior
• High level of attention to detail with all outputs
