The Director of Client Services will primarily support servicing and developing Ad Testing and Ad Tracking research business within the Midwest region of Ipsos Connect. This position will report into the Vice President of Client Services and will be accountable to gain Ipsos Connect specific product knowledge, develop subordinates to aggressively gain client credibility and grow our regional advertising research business. Ideal candidate should be able to understand ad testing and tracking research from design, delivery and strategic insights perspective and be willing to get involved at all levels of the process as needed while we continue to grow this expertise within the region.
Primary Duties – Responsibilities would include but not limited to:
• Directs client service management team (and gets hands dirty when necessary) to ensure flawless execution of all projects from design to delivery
• Manages and fosters positive ongoing relationship with key contacts (decision-making personnel) at client portfolio
• Demonstrates in depth understanding of client’s product, service and strategy and their competitive market in order to build and grow Ipsos credibility within client organization
• Expert understanding of market and survey research techniques, with working knowledge of communications & media (copytesting and tracking) and brand equity research products and services in order to identify and propose potential opportunities with existing and new clients
• Anticipates future needs of clients issues in order to proactively influence product development and delivery opportunities
• Proactively works with internal cross-functional department managers to continuously improve process and ensure their understanding and expectations of current and future client needs
• Presents compelling insights to client in a way that evokes confidence and expertise and translates complicated insights in simple (lay) terminology that will be relevant to broad client audience (research and brand)
• Develops, manages and mentors staff to build client understanding at all disciplines (market research; brand; category management; etc.) process vs. just project orientation; strategic analytic insight and presentation skills
• Contributes to and actively manages assigned regional revenue and profit margin
Required Skills:
• BA Minimum; MA/MBA a plus with minimum of 8+ years of experience
• Market Research and/or Advertising Research experience (client and/or supplier side) and strategy
• Basic strategic marketing and ‘go-to-market’ knowledge: media, advertising and communications; brand management and strategy; application of distribution, promotion, pricing, etc.
• Proven ability to expand beyond typical execution/ utilization of products to creatively forms insights to solve client issues
• Research project and process management skills – to manage portfolio of business
• Consultative client relationship-building and management skills
• New business development orientation/proposal and pitch experience
• Proven people management experience and skills (hiring and development)
• Strategic analytic skills and proven ability to draw compelling insights from research data
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
