Position Summary
As an Art Director at Society, we expect that your thinking be unexpected, that your social interest and skillset be vast, and that you have an insatiable desire to make. You should love ideas, not tactics, and use your distinct aesthetic approach to create emotionally resonant storytelling across all platforms, ranging from a simple post to a fully-integrated, experiential campaign. Most importantly, you ask yourself the defining question in social – “Would anyone actually do/watch/share this?”
You must be collaborative, adaptable, and capable of working across multiple client industries — adjusting your visual approach accordingly.
Essential Functions
Art Directors are responsible for conceiving, designing and producing integrated, but social media-focused concepts aligned with a clear strategy. You’re responsible for completing projects through to execution, presenting work to senior creatives, and being a positive contributor to Society’s culture.
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree
Work Experience:
• 1-3 years of experience art directing, developing, and creating for digital/social
Skills:
• Knowledge of social platform capabilities & best practices, and a willingness to learn new ones
• A love of conceptual storytelling that transcends platform
• A collaborative spirit and a cooperative ego
• A willingness to help support on all projects and pitches
• Mastery of the typical visual software suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint/Pages, etc.
• Additional creative skills such as photography, animation, interpretive dance a plus
