This role is a joint venture between TBWA WorldHealth and TBWA\Chiat\Day.The person we are seeking must have both consumer and healthcare/pharma experience. Some DTC experience is also a must. The position will report in to TBWA\Chiat. This candidate must have strong emotional intelligence and be able build bridges where client silos exist and they must be able to confidently navigate between two agencies, TBWA\Chiat and TBWA\WorldHealth, There is an opportunity for this candidate to grow into an MD position and oversee the whole Health Collective.
Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic direction and approvals at significant steps of the advertising creative process
• Participate in the fiscal management of the agency forecast and income for the year
• Provide insight into short-and long–term planning for the agency at large
• Assist agency leadership by improving the operations of agency processes and business structures to ensure growth within the industry
• Provide strategic perspective on tactical POA recommendations and pieces prior to client submission
• Encourage and enable account personnel to develop and fulfill career goals
• Maintain a superior knowledge and understanding of agency resources in order to effectively handle crisis situations
• Ensure that yearly reviews are performed for all team members
• Work with director of client services and creative directors to ensure that account is staffed appropriately to meet client needs, including the provision of rationale and supporting documentation for deviation in staff requirements
• Maintain a working knowledge of strategic direction across multiple products within the agency
• Identify and encourage appropriate training opportunities
• Manage tracking of forecast and budget
• Coordinate discussion of POA report cards with client and appropriate agency staff
• Exhibit appropriate dress, behavior, and conduct befitting a role model for the account group as a whole
• Build relationships with senior level product management of assigned account in addition to others when appropriate
• Act as keeper of the strategic focus for the product as it relates to all marketing segments, including PR, medical education, DTC, global markets
• Provide client team with new, unexplored opportunities for the product, such as disease awareness/PR programs, DTC, DTP, Internet, direct mail
• Provide leadership and support during crisis situations
• Inform executive managers of significant billing issues
• Encourage account team to support team-building initiatives
• Participate in all strategic client meetings
• Ensure that account team is trained appropriately regarding how to write contact reports, creative work plans, and strategic points-of-view
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong management skills
• Strong communication skills
• Strong writing skills
• Strong conceptual skills
• Ability to lead a team
• Significant background in pharmaceutical advertising account management and/or working in product management, preferably 10 years healthcare experience
