Position Summary
Initiative is looking for a innovative, bold, bright Director of Strategy to join our team in NYC!
Essential Functions
• Strategy Leadership:
◦ Maintaining quality of Society’s strategy product in New York
◦ Research and insights development to help differentiate our client’s social strategies in an oversaturated content world
◦ Leading social channel, creative, influencer marketing, and community management strategy for brands across all social channels
◦ A focus on branded social performance and KPIs in context with overall business goals
◦ Working with account management teams to help steward and nurture the health of accounts
• New Business:
◦ Participating in new business for Society and sister IPG Agencies
• Mentorship:
◦ Managing and mentoring teams of strategists and community managers
◦ Driving internal education, including accelerating the agency’s success and mastery of the social media landscape through collaboration with the client, Society colleagues, and agency partners
◦ Foster a team practice of participating in and sharing cultural activities, trends, and educational opportunities that can inspire and inform new thinking/opportunities
• Key Tasks:
◦ Management of the New York Strategy and Community Management Team
◦ Social ecosystem analysis and brand channel planning
◦ Audience and channel insights development in collaboration with analytics, community management, and paid social colleagues
◦ Collaboration with creative team to build breakthrough campaign work that delivers on client business objectives
◦ Develop creative and communications briefs for campaign
◦ Interface with media and guide paid social strategy and investment goals
◦ Senior-client-facing thought leadership
◦ Insight development and future planning of tactics rooted in data
Qualifications
Work Experience:
• 5-7 years of digital and social experience in the US
• Experience mentoring and managing ambitious and talented strategists
Skills:
• History of work that has kept clients and teams at the leading edge of social media marketing
• Excellent presentation skills
• Deadline and results driven
• Impeccable written communication skills
• Extremely detailed oriented and ability to multi-task effectively
• Proactive thinker and doer
• Independently manage client initiatives and campaigns
• Integrates with horizontal teams (Account, Creative, Performance, Media, Tech)
• Ability to make strategic recommendations, build presentation decks, assist in new business presentations
• Passionate about nurturing a collaborative and enthusiastic agency culture
