RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Vice President at Edelman Digital New York you will help lead Client Service and Strategy for one of the world’s leading global consumer electronics brands. This role is a key business lead with the largest team in the Edelman Digital global network. The expectation is that a qualified candidate at the VP level be equal parts account manager, strategic thinker and team leader. You should demonstrate the ability to council senior positioned digital clients, work collaboratively with large partner agencies across marketing disciplines, develop thoughtful digital marketing approaches to accomplish business objectives, navigate large organizational structure, translate reporting into meaningful client insights and act as a compassionate team lead.
Other responsibilities include building client relationships, delivering clear POVs on digital trends, mining strategic work for consumer insights and developing client pitch proposals. Key digital leads are also responsible to articulate ideas, present concepts to marketing executives and represent the broader Edelman team in all circumstances. In addition candidates must be able to think operationally and manage the financial performance of the teams, ensuring quality work, effective processes and that client requests are handled in timely and strategic fashion.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
The vice president must have at least eight years of relevant experience in digital marketing and/or related fields including advertising, management consulting, media and publishing. Brand experience in the consumer electronics, mobile or technology space is a major plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The vice president should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and strong understanding of how to communicate with teams and work from both client and agency sides. S/he should have a track record of leading profitable programs that have advanced client business goals. S/he should be a superb people manager and have experience successfully managing resources and budgets as well as helping win new business. S/he will be entrepreneurial and professional and have the confidence necessary to manage a team.
DEMONSTRATE CHARACTER/EXPERIENCE:
• Shepherd creative ideas from concept to execution by working with both the creative and insights teams
• Willingness to take a hands-on and enthusiastic approach to solving problems
• Develop pitch materials that demonstrate how creativity translates to ROI
• Collaborate alongside the community management team to manage projects and delegate project responsibilities
• Expert grasp of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Vine and Snapchat – we need an early adopter that can speak to both the macro and micro themes in social media
• Self-starter with a strong ability to embrace an entrepreneurial spirit in the context of a corporate environment
• The successful candidate should have an understanding of social media and be able to understand the cadence of how a community ebbs and flows
• Provide sound counsel to the team and to clients on programs and ongoing strategies that reflect the nuances of different social networks and communities. Experience managing social media programs/channels
• Foster relationships within the client organization in order to establish their own credibility with the client, and be able to surface the stories, priorities and information that will serve the community and the company well
• Genuine understanding of mobile consumer technology, and a passion for online engagement
