MWWPR has an exciting opportunity for a VP on the B2B Communications team in the agency’s New York, NY office. Seeking a seasoned professional with expertise in high-level strategy, analytical thinking, writing/copywriting, and presentation development. This individual will serve as a key lead, helping to advance strategy and business development for the B2B practice group, and will also assume a lead role on MWWPR’s StoryCore Master Narrative team – growing the offering across all industry verticals.
Responsibilities:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to conduct interviews and workshops with high-level executives in multiple industries; participate in client meetings and new business pitches
• High-level analytical thinking with the ability to evaluate large amounts of information and research to identify key themes, insights and strategic client messaging opportunities
• Superior writing skills—must be able to write concise, creative and strategic copy tailored to both corporate and consumer audiences in various industries and verticals
• Proven strategist with the ability to identify opportunities that will benefit our clients’ businesses as well as promote further growth of the MWWPR B2B practice group
• Deep knowledge of and proven ability to effectively articulate the full services of MWWPR, procedures and business methods
• Demonstrated leadership ability in new business development—ability to work with appropriate agency resources and account teams to identify and secure incremental business opportunities; experience writing and developing compelling new business materials (proposals, presentations, case studies, etc.); ability to deliver powerful presentations that win new business with the support of supervisor; commitment to developing a strong new business ethic within the team and building a leadership role in outside organizations to increase market visibility and create new business opportunities
• Excellent project management capability—ability to execute against multiple tasks in an effective and organized manner; provide high quality deliverables on or prior to deadlines; manage the logistics of and run multiple, defined client projects from concept to completion on time and within budget
• Team-oriented with the proven ability to work collaboratively as well as independently; comfortable liaising with multiple individuals and practice groups within the organization including Creative, Research & Insights, etc.
• Exceptional proofreading/editing skills and attention to detail; ability to efficiently maintain quality/version control of all documents and work products
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to create professional, client-ready documents and presentations in PowerPoint and Word
Qualifications:
• Approximately 8-10 years of experience serving in a full time role in a public relations agency or the communications department of a company in a relevant industry, or as a strategist or consultant
• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, a related field or in the liberal arts
• Experience working with or a passion for B2B and professional services brands is a plus
• Superior oral and written communication skills; advanced proofreading and editing ability
• Maintain a professional, client-ready demeanor and presence; keep a high standard of etiquette in all communications and interactions
• Demonstrated proficiency and affinity for digital tools and platforms (including social media)
• Experience supervising and providing guidance to junior staffers; strong team building and mentorship aptitude; effectively develops and retains staff
• Proven track record for providing and selling in highly strategic counsel/recommendations to clients
• Maintain knowledge and a demonstrated understanding of industry publications, nationals, broadcast media
• Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite and Cision (or related PR software)
• Ability to travel as necessary contingent on client and new business needs (requirements vary)
