Responsibilities:
Influencer Engagement
• Manage relationships with key, senior level media/influencers
• Solicit & share feedback/perception from media & influencers regarding client(s), competition & position in the industry in order to counsel clients & inform actions
Digital & Social Media Acumen
• Establish social media objectives & goals across the account
• Partner with clients to establish the strategic direction for social media engagements
• Lead engagement with executives & support of their individual social media platforms
Client Engagement
• Provide strategic counsel to executive-level clients
• Ensure internal & external stakeholders are aligned
• Manage, influence & negotiate scope of work with clients
• Drive strategic communication planning process
• Collaborate with other business leads to integrate & drive best results for all parties
Business Acumen & Strategic Thinking
• Oversee team utilization, financial & resource management issues
• Contribute to agency strategic planning initiatives
• Educate & oversee team on cross agency activity
• Ability to detect & mitigate possible issues, conflicts & disruptions in the business
New Business Development
• Responsible for some existing account growth and diversification metrics
• Determine if prospective business qualifies for pursuit
• Lead preparation and delivery of organic growth or new business proposal content & in-person pitch meetings
• Begin coordinating & pursuing cross-account/practice & global business opportunities
People Leadership
• Oversee resource allocation across team including staffing/hiring/onboarding new talent
• Motivate staff with the goal of retention & development
• Help ensure team is cross-trained & have a broad understanding of other businesses
Qualifications:
• Minimum 8-10+ years’ experience in Integrated communications – in an agency &/or within applicable industry
• Minimum of 5 years individual & team management experience, including experience developing a team
• Minimum of 5 years PR management, crisis management & execution experience
• Demonstrated creative & strategic mindset
• New business development experience
• Strong organizational skills & ability to multi-task, work in a team environment, and meet deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree required & Master’s degree preferred in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field
