The Role:
The Executive Director Data Governance will shape Catalina’s strategy as it relates to protecting and maximizing the value of the world class data set Catalina controls. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, the ED Data Governance will be a key company leader delivering global results via indirect relationships with the global analytics team. Duties and Responsibilities
• Communicate with data stewards, other members of the Chief Data Office and Data Governance Program, and technology roles as needed
• Lead Business Intelligence initiatives from strategy through implementation
• In partnership with Chief Data Officer, develop the goals, framework, organizational model and roadmap for data governance.
• Develop the Catalina operating model for internal development and support of data warehouse and BI.
• Create staffing models and detailed role descriptions
• Define detail roles, identify data quality issues, help in prioritizing value-based governance use cases and implementation of new processes and structures.
• Develop framework and outline decision rights, organization model, enabling technologies and processes.
• Facilitate Governance Council meetings. Provide education for stakeholders from C-Suite to end-users.
• Recommend approach for development and maintenance and priorities for implementation
• Define data stewardship, data governance and data quality processes
• Establish and maintain critical data element inventories, dictionaries and associated business rules, internal control requirements and lineage documentation
Accountabilities
• Accountable for oversight and execution of Enterprise Data Strategy
• Oversee team activities in support of the Data Governance Program and Chief Data Office’s Enterprise Data Strategy
• Ensure appropriate data standards and control processes are implemented across business operations
• Provide oversight and independent challenge through management review and discussions
• Accountable for the implementation and enforcement of enterprise -wide policies and standards in adherence to the established data strategy
• Accountable for global compliance to Data Quality, Data Governance, Business Data Management
• Accountable for global communication, change management and educational efforts
• Accountable for global operational aspects of Data Governance and Data Quality activities
• Accountable for an up-to-date data repository for business rules and terms, metadata, reference data and master data
• Accountable for enabling the standardized capture, access, storage, movement, and publication of data across all global integrated systems
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required, post-graduate degree/MBA preferred
• 8-10 years of related experience, International data governance experience preferred
• In depth Knowledge of enterprise data management
• Extensive experience in business writing and generating solid deliverables
• Strong working knowledge of standard Business Data Management frameworks
• Master/Metadata experience in industry
• Proven leadership capabilities in data management context
• Excellent client relationship skills at the project leadership level, demonstrated effective teamwork, and a track record of consistently exceeding goals
• Proven ability to communicate effectively at senior levels, build deep relationships with various business groups
• Expected travel 10% or less

• Position will be located at Catalina Headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida.
