Description
Creative Director
Responsible for bringing strategy to life by ideating and developing a platform on which to build written and visual expressions of the concept; seamlessly able to transform the strategic thought into best-in-class creative programming and collateral.
Qualifications
• At least 10 years of experience in concept development, art direction or copywriting
• Experience in an integrated marketing, advertising or public relations agency setting
• In-depth understanding of brand management and the broader overall marketing mix
• Ability to link creativity to strategy
• Winning attitude and proven track record of winning new campaigns/clients across multiple industries
• Proven track record of building effective interpersonal relationships with direct reports, planning, strategy and account management colleagues, leadership and clients, and successfully navigating matrixed organizations
• Strong track record on setting direction and lead ideation of on-brand, forward thinking creative solutions in PR and integrated marketing
• Strong presentation skills, articulating smart and sometimes complex solutions in a straightforward and lucid manner
• Full understanding of production and storytelling through multiple channels, including digital
• Understands role that PR and social media play in the overall communications marketing mix
Responsibilities
• Develop platform idea and work with planning function to determine parameters for success
• Work in conjunction with planners and strategists to direct the visual/verbal expression of brand building ideas to drive media coverage, buzz and brand engagement; present ideas to clients and prospects in a compelling manner
• Understand client’s brand and category in order to develop work that is consistent with the brand’s personality and will differentiates the client from the competition
• Deliver fresh thinking and innovative creative solutions needed to create the next generation of relevant, motivating campaigns and platforms
• Recognizing and developing great ideas and pushing them forward – as the cohesive team lead of art directors, copy editors, designers and more to bring the creative process to life
• Lead all areas of the strategically aligned creative process including conceptual development, writing, art direction, designing and production – within new business and for existing clients
• Works hand-in-hand with senior account lead to see projects from ideas to activation, effectively completing projects of high quality within timeframe and budget
• Lead role with clients, with the ability to galvanize a room and have a credible point-of-view with c-suite executives
• Keep up to date with innovative creative work across industries; share internal and external best practices with colleagues across practices and functions within the agency, inspiring others to be more creative and think in new ways to engage and entertain people
• Work with external agencies (i.e., graphic designers, digital agencies, experiential agencies, etc.) as required, to visualize and bring ideas to life through implementation
• Mentor teams and direct reports and pushing forward the creative agenda internally
