Overview:
The Ketchum Dallas Brand Practice is seeking a Vice President to add to their dynamic team of talented professionals. A background in traditional public relations, in addition to strategy, planning and execution of integrated consumer campaigns is essential to this role.
Responsibilities:
• Provide senior-level account planning and supervision for several large accounts.
• Help set and achieve business goals for the Agency and media relations and marketing results for clients through strong leadership, vision, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Serve as the strategic liaison among client, account team and agency management.
• Serve as senior contact for clients, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of clients’ business; develop strategy for implementing successful client programs.
• Provide strategic guidance to clients on an ongoing basis; anticipate and address client needs.
• Able to proactively share a vision for the account direction and to inspire the account team to achieve it.
• Creatively troubleshoot clients’ problems as they arise; seek senior management input and apply the resources from Ketchum whenever appropriate.
• Motivate team members by promptly reviewing work and providing constructive feedback; encourage teams to take advantage of training and development opportunities.
• Help account team(s) work effectively and in the best interests of client(s); maximize agency’s network of resources to enhance client services.
• Demonstrate proficiency in writing and editing materials including strategic plans, toolkits, client media materials, points of view and other correspondence.
• Develop creative, innovative PR ideas and/or access teams to deliver these ideas to the client based on their needs.
• Exhibit strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and others.
• Manage account financials including accurate budget creation, allocation and control. Ensure budgets are accurate when presented to clients, manage our scope of work to those budgets and the budget tracker to ensure we stay on track.
• Oversee team’s entered time, time sheets, client billing, supplier invoicing and purchase order compliance.
• Ensure team billability and account profitability.
• Begin to build a leadership role in outside organizations to increase Ketchum’s visibility in marketplace and create new or incremental business opportunities.
• Understands trends in PR, pop culture and new media and can help shape programs that are right for the clients’ core target audiences
Qualifications:
• At least ten years of agency and/or corporate public relations experience.
• Travel & Hospitality experience a plus.
• Demonstrated track record in building strong client relationships and delivering programs that exceeded anticipated results.
• Proven ability to collaborate with an integrated marketing team, with track record of successfully partnering with other marketing agencies to build and execute consumer campaigns.
• Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and others.
• Ability to develop, recognize, understand and be able to help sell great creative work.
• Ability to understand and leverage all aspects of the PESO (Paid/Earned/Shared/Owned media) model.
• Demonstrated track record of solving complex brand challenges; strong balance of traditional, innovative, experimental and digital/social experience; proven ability to creatively problem solve.
• Ability to lead and drive to the best client solutions through ambiguity and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships clients, colleagues and vendors.
• Exceptional oral and written communications skills; captivating presenter and great listener; strong negotiating, persuasion and diplomacy skills.
