Position Summary
The Director of Decision Sciences sits at the intersection of the DS client services team and the agency business leaders. This person is responsible for managing DS talent as well as actively participating in agency initiatives and driving best practices. Foundationally, the Director of Decision Science will focus on organization and management of digital data, with a strong focus on delivering, visualizing and automating digital reporting. The Director will also be responsible for contributing to our digital measurement and learning agenda as well as our go-to-market programmatic strategy.
Essential Functions
• Data Management
◦ Oversee collection of online and offline digital media delivery and performance data from ad servers or other third party sources
◦ Support the development of a US data management system that will deliver on reporting needs
◦ Develop and maintain categorizations and business rules to facilitate automation
◦ Partner with internal and external teams to gather and document project requirements
◦ Develop and organize team to perform data QA and cleansing for all digital data
• Measurement & Reporting
◦ Develop visualizations in Excel or PowerPoint and/or provide guidance for visualization development in a third party BI system (ie Tableau)
◦ Participate in client and agency partner report presentations and conversations
◦ Assist with the development of a measurement and learning plan; Establish campaign performance benchmarks and goals
◦ Apply quantitative methods to analyze and interpret information from multiple data sources
◦ Develop meaningful insights for regular campaign performance reports
◦ Manage the development of tagging strategy and matrix
◦ Coordinate with Ad Operations to implement measurement and tracking technology
◦ Perform other duties as required and assigned
◦ Contribute to programmatic vision and measurement agenda
• Talent Management
◦ Manage and mentor Manager(s), Sr. Analyst(s) and Analyst(s) including providing career path guidance, growth opportunities and performance evaluations
◦ Manage the allocation of resources based on individuals’ strengths and client needs
◦ Participate in the hiring process to ensure a team composition with the diversity of skills required to meet client needs
◦ Work with Client Business Partners to develop and make DS staffing and scope recommendations
• Agency Responsibilities
◦ Maintain inter-discipline relationships with planning, ad operations, strategy, research and advanced analytics to improve our overall agency product
◦ Help create a lively and engaging agency culture through active participation in internal activities
◦ Perform other duties as required and assigned
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required
Work Experience:
• 5+ years of relevant experience
Skills:
• Must have robust knowledge and experience of third party ad serving and site-side tracking technologies: DFA, Innovid, Sizmek, Atlas (standard and rich media), Eyeblaster, Pointroll, Webtrends.
• Understanding of broad range of online advertising media channels from Search, Display Banners, Email, Contextual, Social
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Must be a team player but also have the ability to work independently
• Robust understanding of online measurement and analytics, with the ability to provide meaningful insight to the client as well as internal teams.
• Understanding of advertising measurements such as reach and frequency, clickthrough rate, rich media interaction rate, etc.
• Understanding and familiarity with advanced analytics practices
• Ability to digest and explain complex ideas to both external and internal clients
• Experience manipulating and analyzing large sets of data in excel
• Requires strong project management skills
