Critical Mass is looking for a Technology Director to lead the tech team for BMW USA. You’ll partner closely with our creative, strategy, and marketing science leads to create amazing work for one of the world’s premier automotive brands. Ideal candidates will have automotive category experience, but more importantly a passion for bringing the best of what’s possible to engaging, effective user experiences. There’s a lot of opportunity on the account, so you'll work with the VP Technology overseeing the account to capitalize on those chances.
The Director role will oversee large initiatives and all new work. We’re thinking that someone with high-proficiency in client-side technologies will be able to thrive. You’ll still be close to the code at times - creating POCs, performing code reviews, etc., but you’ll also have an onsite team tech team consisting of all the skills necessary to create and deliver the digital experience as well as a supplemental team one timezone away.
Responsibilities
• Lead the technology team to create engaging, effective
• Work with the Technology Lead to ensure the team, projects, and systems are all that they can and should be
• Develop and document high-level technical designs such as architectural diagrams
• Contribute to organic business development, research, and requirement gathering
• Act as in-house expert on various technologies and assist others in learning these technologies
• Communicate and share the team’s achievements with inside and outside the company
Required Skills
• Experience creating premium digital experiences in an advertising agency setting
• Experience with leading a distributed team utilizing modern communication tools
• Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
• Familiarity with Atlassian project management tools, i.e. Jira, Confluence
• Ability to communicate with clients daily, acting as a representative of Critical Mass from a technical & business development standpoint
• High proficiency in client-side web technology an asset
• Luxury automotive category experience an asset
• Experience working with a modern enterprise CMS an asset
