The successful candidate will serve in a leadership capacity within our team managing highly reputable brands in a range of industry sectors. The role involves a wide range of activities including media relations, issues/crisis and corporate communications, government communications, government relations, people management and new business development.
We are looking for a confident professional who is comfortable working with high-level executives and thrives within a fast-paced and results-driven environment.
The immediate need is for a twelve (12) term.
Responsibilities:
• Provide senior level counsel to clients on a wide range of communication needs, including crisis and issues management, strategic communications, government relations, stakeholder management, social media, strategy development and media relations
• Build strong relationships with clients and serve as the day-to-day client contact and account team manager on multiple client accounts
• Develop and implement comprehensive programs and tactics, along with supporting materials
• Staff projects effectively and manage client expectations
• Identify, respond to and lead new business pitches
• Manage budgets, billing and client reporting
• Coach and mentor junior team members by effectively delegating work and providing frequent and constructive feedback
• Support RFP submissions and new client pitch processes and teams through research, brainstorming, industry and competitive analysis and stakeholder assessments
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or Graduate degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Public Relations or Journalism
• A minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience planning and delivering strategic communications programs to support organizational objectives
• Experience in using targeted media for advocacy and outreach purposes including paid advertising
• Ability to provide strategic communications counsel, specifically in crisis and issues management
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple, complex and high-profile projects with a keen attention to detail
• Superb organizational and project management skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands in a rapidly developing environment
• An entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated ability to develop business leads and to win new business
• Prior agency experience
• Ability to think strategically and manage daily client workload
• Ability to work in and lead teams, as well as the ability to work independently
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• High degree of judgment, discretion, tact, and insight
• Must be a self-starter and driver, challenging the team and clients – someone who also asks “what else can we do?”
• Direct experience with stakeholder communications, media relations, crisis and issues management
• Proven track record in providing leadership and strategic counsel to clients on corporate positioning
• Strong account/project management skills including budget management
• Ability to travel, sometimes for week-long periods
