Position Summary
UM is looking for a dynamic, fun, strategic thinker who is looking to advance their media planning career! Essential Functions
• Oversee development of media strategies consistent with brand marketing objectives. Recommend targeted, innovative media vehicles consistent with those media strategies to our clients
• Lead strategic and tactical digital planning activities by providing ideas and enthusiasm for connecting media with communities, both locally and globally
• Provide thought leadership and develop strategic direction for media planning and buying across digital and traditional mediums
• Develop and manage departmental budget, as well as create proposals and budgets for special departmental projects and initiatives as needed
• Work with relevant vendors, media sales community and internal departments to develop unique and strategically appropriate media approaches, including the exploration of venues (sites, creative technologies, etc.) that utilize emerging technologies pertinent to our clients’ objectives
• Will have strong connections to the industry that ensure you are on the forefront of key trends in all or most of the key areas of digital media, including but not limited to: digital brand strategy, ecommerce, search, online advertising, mobile and social
• Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and handle all personnel requirements for immediate staff including training and development
• Insures best practices are used across department and account responsibilities
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all agency departments/disciplines
• Own the relationships with agency partners, where applicable.
• Work closely with Investment leads on Traditional/Digital Upfront negotiations
• Sit on MAGNA Council as Digital lead to establish benchmarks, marketplace and future opportunities
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor's degree required
Work Experience:
• 12-15 + years of digital media management experience, including on-line marketing with execution of business goals yielding measurable results
• 5+ years management experience required
Skills:
• Successful experience with on-line marketing, including SEO and CRM systems is a plus
• The ideal candidate will have a strong and current knowledge of industry trends and web best practices, including CRM, marketing and metrics
• Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into actionable information
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment
• Demonstrated ability to “see the bigger picture”
• Superior writing, communication and presentation skills. Strong analytical skills
• Ability to contribute individually, as well as participate in cross-functional teams
• Experience working with senior-level clients
• Ability to create great working relationships with all levels within the company and across multiple disciplines
• Strong negotiation skills, tact and diplomacy
• Proficient knowledge of other media departments
• Ability to work under dual reporting structures
