Position Summary
The Vice President, Group Director, SEM serves as the primary day-to-day client contact on a specific piece of business. This role involves deep client vertical knowledge which leads to managing the Account Plan, thus attempting to further grow the client’s profitability for Reprise Media. Being well versed in the areas of search and social engine marketing is essential for this role.
Essential Functions
• Primary client contact and interface for the search and social business
• Primary contact for partner agencies for the search and social business
• Relationship liaison between the client, the partner agency and the search and social practice
• Develops client / partner agency presentations and leads all external communication on search and social strategy
• Develops search and social strategy in conjunction with peers in the search and social practice, who work on the campaigns
• Prioritizes, project manages and ensures the timeliness and quality of client deliverables
• Maintains a sound understanding of client and agency opportunity costs and growth opportunities
• Develops a deep understanding of the client business, relates this to the growth of the search and social practice and effectively communicates this to peers and seniors in the search and social practice
• Identifies up-sell and cross-sell opportunities through strategic and tactical campaign management, with detailed attention to profitability and client success
• Interpretation of client reports, with specific insight to testing validation and refinement of campaign strategies
• Support external Business Development and Marketing initiatives such as sales pitches, case studies, etc.
• Lead, develop and manage Manager, Sr. Analyst & Analyst staff
• Offer guidance support, direction and provide development opportunities and ongoing feedback
• Ensure direct reports have received all tools and training to excel in their roles, this includes but is not limited to deal math, sales techniques and excel
• Main team contact for questions or problem solving
• Assist team with conflict resolution, conference calls and meetings where necessary
• Coaches and mentors team and evaluate staffing needs and makes recommendations for direct reports training/development, responsible for performance evaluations & regular feedback
• Supports and drives corporate culture initiatives
• Expert on Google, Yahoo & Bing
Qualifications
Education:
• BA/BS or equivalent in Marketing, or a related field is preferable
Work Experience:
• 5-8 years of experience in media/search and social within a search and social company/agency, advertising agency, direct marketing, cable/broadcasting or similar media environment
• Experience in a previous search and social engine marketing role is preferred
• SEO experience is a plus
Skills:
• Ability to judge and quantify results of advertising/promotional efforts placed on behalf of our clients (i.e., understand true value of ROI, understand/describe impact of results, compare actual results to needs of client) and the knowledge of how to apply this information in future campaigns.
• Senior level client negotiation and management skills with the ability to write clearly and to make lively, imaginative but substantive presentations
• Working knowledge of online performance tracking and brand measurement tools as well as leading edge media target profiling technology
• Well versed on the latest news within the industry that fuel opinions on latest trends for clients to consider
• Proven ability to represent company philosophies and expertise to external parties; including clients and partner agencies
• Continued enthusiasm towards the medium and the desire to constantly educate one’s self on the latest information
• Experience in growing, managing and inspiring internal search and social teams; strong leadership and administrative skills
• Strong interpersonal skills including clear communication skills and positive attitude
• Solid organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy when working with numbers
• Expert on at least one bidding platform such as Marin, Kenshoo or Doubleclick
• Have basic story-telling ability as well as ability to lead virtual and in-person presentations
• Excellent writing skills with an attention to detail
• Expertise with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required
• Ability to multitask and handle other duties as assigned
• Spanish proficiency is a plus
