ABOUT THE ROLE
To lead one of our business management and planning groups across a range of clients which include:
• Tourism Australia
• UM are the global agency of record for TA, the Australia Government agency responsible for the international marketing of Australia as a destination for leisure and business travel
• Seiko
• Establish in 1881, the Japanese watch maker also produces Pulsar and Lorus watches. Since the 1964 Tokyo Olympics the brand has a strong association with sports, and currently partners with former no.1 Tennis star Novak Djokovic.

The Group Business Director must:
• Lead and manage the group across product, people and performance
• Understand client’s businesses thoroughly
• Develop strong relationships with senior clients, becoming a trusted advisor
• Inspire media planning, strategic and creative expertise
• Identify new and pioneering opportunities to achieve best in class communications
• Increase revenue and profitability
• Report group financial performance
• Cultivate a team dynamic
• Attract, develop and retain the best talent
• Play a prominent role in new business pitches
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Developing bespoke client action plans
• Direct agency resource and output across the groups client base
• Lead agency output across key clients e.g. annual planning work
• Continually monitor and assess the strength of the UM client relationship, ensuring excellent performance reviews
• Deliver group revenue target
◦ Identify opportunities when Mediabrands diversified services can help a client’s business and drive incremental revenue for the agency
◦ Expansion of client base through new business opportunities
• Submit timely and accurate revenue forecasts
• Interview and convert new talent
• Appraise existing talent, set smart goals and create bespoke learning and development programmes
• Develop personal and company fame
ABOUT YOU
• A seasoned Media / Business Director with substantial experience who is passionate about media and the role an agency can play in the evolving communications mix
• Significant media agency experience required, including working on alcohol, FMCG and travel brands.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent. Degree from the marketing, media or business studies field would be preferable.
• Dedicated and motivating manager and team leader, who is inspirational while selfless
• Highly personable with a collaborative spirit, who develops strong and enjoyable working relationships internally and externally with ease.
• Excellent and credible communication skills, familiar with developing strong senior client connections
• Highly ambitious, with a thirst for continually learning and improvement

Within that our core focus is to collaborate with other departments to build and deliver optimum plans, strategies and ideas, taking client briefs through our Moments Planning Process.
