Position Summary
This associate director of business development will support and report to the vice president of strategic development for Reprise in the U.S. The ideal candidate will demonstrate significant knowledge of organic and/or paid search including content strategy, technical knowledge, and remarketing tactics necessary for delivery of enterprise-level search programs. Just as important for this role as an understanding of SEO and SEM is the ability to communicate with prospects and partners of varying expertise in search. This involves qualifying new business leads, developing presentations, leading conference calls, and building project plans. The associate director will also be expected to contribute research to benefit both clients and the internal team. The right person for the role will be a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter who has proven success and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. It is expected that the candidate will be ready to manage people and pull in other help when needed.
Essential Functions
• Candidate must have strong business acumen, be able to multitask and operate at high velocities
• Clearly define elements of SEO/SEM projects to set expectations of what is and is not in scope
• Aid the vice president in scoping both future projects and staffing
• Work seamlessly with cross-functional teams including paid search, paid social, content production, and web development from multiple agencies within the IPG family
• Verbally, literally, and visually provide strategic and tactical guidance on SEO best practices
• Be able to sell in incremental projects where it benefits the client
• Share new developments within the team and thereby enable superior service to our clients
• Although this role will not manage anyone at the outset, this person should be qualified to lead, develop, and manage Managers, Sr. Analysts, and Analysts with responsibilities including but not limited to:
• Offer guidance, support, and direction as well as provide development opportunities and ongoing feedback
• Ensure direct reports have received access to and training on research and reporting platforms to excel in their roles
• Main team contact for questions or problem solving
• Assist team with conflict resolution, conference calls, and meetings where necessary
• Coach and mentor team; responsible for performance evaluations and regular feedback
• Evaluate staffing needs and make recommendations for direct reports’ training and development
• Support and drive corporate culture initiatives
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Work Experience:
• 5+ years of digital marketing experience with an emphasis on SEO
Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the know-how to translate detailed knowledge into key takeaways for all positions from marketing managers to IT professionals to C-level executives
• Demonstrated track record of moving client partnerships forward to generate results
• Solid understanding of enterprise, white hat SEO techniques and/or enterprise SEM strategy
• Highly analytical with the ability to internalize the importance of performance KPIs such as ROI
• Familiarity with how both front end design and site architecture can affect SEO performance
• Reliability to develop agendas, set up conference calls, and present either in-person or by phone
• Consistent organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy when working with numbers
• Experience with tools relating to web analytics, search reporting, link and technical analysis
• Strong grasp of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
