We are looking for a Public Relations Vice President to join our team in Seattle. The ideal candidate is a seasoned communicator who thrives in an environment where passion, creativity and curiosity are valued. We are looking for someone who has experience managing large accounts, has excellent relationships with business and technology journalists and media influencers, and who has a special place in his/her heart for technology. We’re looking for someone who understands how to develop and motivate junior staff AND how to work with senior executives at Fortune 500 companies. Candidates must have a passion for client service, staff development and the wide world of influence, as well as a keen interest in relationship-building, in audience and in measuring results.
This role is focused on corporate communications, global communications campaigns and brand-level storytelling for a Fortune 500 client. You will be integral to strategic public relations and communications planning, corporate reputation management and enriching influencers’ experience with our client’s brand.

Responsibilities:
• Use your omniscient superpowers to watch and analyze trends. Translate the technobabble and tell people what’s important via well-written and insightful competitive analyses and data-rich trend reports; research the media/influencer landscape and report out
• Keep our team’s fast train speeding along. Learn what makes our clients tick, push the team to be better and faster. Be our dot connector. And, be ready to roll up your sleeves and jump into the fire when (not if) a train derails
• Be in the mix on exciting campaigns and news moments; run integrated communications campaigns that are based on brand goals, the broad influencer landscape and global competitive environment; assist with client events, communication campaigns and announcements
• Understand our client’s business deeply; what opportunities and challenges does our client face, why and what should we do about it; become an expert in our client’s culture, competition and industry
• Develop and maintain relationships with key influentials, including press – globally – and industry luminaries; help manage significant news cycles; partner with clients and press to craft great stories
• Negotiate and manage client expectations and satisfaction; provide strategic and tactical recommendations and anticipate needs; proactively engage on issues and offer solutions
• Drive strategic communication planning process
• Bring imagination and courage to the team to develop creative ways to reach objectives
• Keep a pulse on new trends in the digital marketing & communications space
• Help oversee team professional development, and financial and resource management issues
Qualifications:
• Minimum 8-10+ years of experience in communications, public or media relations; including planning, strategies, crafting story ideas and creative tactics
• Minimum of 5 years client and team management experience
• Knowledge of and direct experience in the technology industry required; and, proven relationships with key influencers in the technology media landscape required
• Bachelor’s degree required in Public Relations, Communications or related field
• Strong writing skills
• Powerful organizational skills and ability to multi-task, work in a team environment, and meet deadlines (project management)
• Proficient with technology and standard office apps (Microsoft Office is preferred)
• Comfortable with integrated communication principles, the role of influence in brand communications, and how earned, owned and paid content work together to solve business challenges
• Understanding of competitive contexts and how to shape resulting strategies
• Fanatic about customer service; works vigorously to earn and keep client relationships
• Strong networking skills with the ability to forge relationships across geographies with clients and with influencers
