Director – Application Marketplace Feeds
GroupM Data and Analytics has an opening in New York City, USA for a world-class Director in Application Marketplace Feeds. Data and Analytics is one of the fastest growing fields within GroupM and focuses on (1) developing platforms for managing data and performing analytics, (2) providing data and analytics services to GroupM agencies and (3) developing new products, methods and algorithms used for data and analytics.

The data and analytics organization in GroupM is responsible for managing and analyzing massive amounts of data as well as supporting the whole organization in delivering value from data. Our research and development group focuses on developing new algorithms and technologies as well as overseeing transfer of these technologies to world-class products through our product management team.
You will lead a global Data Marketplace product team. In this role, you bridge engineering, data provider and business worlds as you design new feeds and maintain the existing ones. You have a bias for action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development. Key responsibilities include gathering requirements, defining a product vision and strategy and prioritizing feed development, working with your extended product team to execute the strategy, delivering the solution to stakeholders, ensuring proper adoption by all GroupM agencies and ensuring proper support by GroupM data and analytics platform.
While candidates from all backgrounds (B.S. degree or higher in a quantitative discipline or other relevant fields with 5 years of relevant work experience) are considered, the preferred candidate will have:
• 10 years of product management experience in marketing data and analytics.
• Deep understanding in one or more of the following areas:
◦ Paid Search advertising and data –advertising within the sponsored listing of a search engine or site and is paid on a CPC or CPM; keyword, Ad and campaign performance measurement
◦ Social Media advertising and data – Paid social ads consists of the sponsored Ad on a social media site like Facebook and Twitter; tracking of those Ads and reporting on various social media properties
◦ Ad Server advertising and data – knowledge of the global players in the ad serving space and their data offerings
◦ Campaign Verification process and data – knowledge of the various vendors that provide advertising verification details and how the Agency users it to measure performance
• Familiarity with use-cases for data and analytics such as dashboarding, flighting optimization, path analysis, cross-channel attribution, optimal frequency, MMM, etc.
• Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
• Knowledgeable across multiple functional areas such as product management, QA, analytics, visualization, UI and marketing consulting.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data and industry trends.
