What We Need
MWWPR has an exciting opportunity for an Account Director on the Digital Strategy team in our New York, NY office. The Account Director possesses a strong understanding of client business and communication strategy and the role that digital activations and social media plays across platforms. The AD conceives and develops digital engagement programs, as well as manages and mentors junior staff.
Responsibilities:
What Is Included (Primary Responsibilities)
• Manage multiple facets of client programs including social strategy development, campaign execution, community management, and analytics and reporting
• Work with top brands to develop strategic digital engagement programs that not only engage consumers, but also drive purchases, affinity and positive sentiment
• Propose and implement digital and social media engagement strategy for clients alongside supervisor; develop content strategy and plans
• Regularly counsel client on digital and social media strategies around both long-term and event driven programs
• Manage the overall quality of work on multiple accounts by demonstrating professionalism and team leadership as a day-to-day client contact; assist in successfully growing existing accounts
• Draft proposals, budgets, staffing plans and timelines for client projects and new business prospects; take responsibility for budgetary issues, including account profitability
• Understand how to determine online measurement and ROI metrics needed evaluate campaign results against objectives; evaluate results against objectives, programs and plans
• Supervise the work of account team members by setting priorities, delegating responsibilities and maintaining deadlines; manage projects and plans to ensure implementation within budget
• Continue to develop and strengthen good relationships with key influencer contacts
• Finalize visibility, content and conversation audits that provide strategic counsel and insight
• Deliver client-ready materials, including strategic programs/plans; edit junior team materials
• Write new business proposals; contribute to pitch preparation and deck draft
• Recognize new business opportunities and elevate to supervisors; maintain and develop contacts and networks for new business
• Mobilize and motivate account team and junior reports; mentor and supervise junior staffers
• Capture time daily and enter it into the system weekly
Qualifications:
What You Have to Have (Educationa nd Experience Requirements)
• 7+ years of experience serving in a full time social media / digital strategy role, either in a public relations agency or the communications department of a company in a relevant industry
• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, a related field or in the liberal arts
• Experience servicing corporate accounts is highly desired
• Superior oral and written communication skills; proofreading and editing ability
• Maintain a professional, client-ready demeanor and presence; keep a high standard of etiquette in all communications and interactions
• Demonstrated mastery of and affinity for digital tools and platforms (including social media), and the digital landscape overall
• Fluency in: Microsoft Office Suite, Cision (or related PR software), and social media tools (Sysomos, Radien6)
• Ability to travel as necessary contingent on client and new business needs (requirements vary)
