Description
The POSSIBLE Account Director (AD) guides and optimizes long-term relationships between key clients and POSSIBLE. The AD is responsible for identifying and qualifying new revenue opportunities with new and existing clients, creating client interest in new POSSIBLE deliverables, referring leads when appropriate to POSSIBLE business development personnel or Directors, and producing proposals and presentations which win the additional business. In this role, you will combine high expertise on digital trends and technologies with an intimate understanding of clients' goals and needs – in order to anticipate what their needs will be and how POSSIBLE can serve them.
Internally, working with their Group Account Director or VP of Account, you will oversee the translation of our clients’ vision into a road map that guides POSSIBLE on how to not only achieve client goals, but also generate work that is creatively brilliant, measurable and has a cultural impact. The AD oversees project teams and is responsible for reviewing team deliverables, providing strategic oversight and ultimately ensuring the work gets noticed, used and appreciated. It is also assumed that this role understands how to drive profitability at scale within their own teams and as POSSIBLE sells in new offerings. As a leader in the company, you should regularly teach internal classes and participate in company vision & strategy sessions.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor workflow of projects. Intercede when issues arise.
• Assume a leading role in the review and evaluation of the quality of the Agency's product.
• Provide strategic input into the work and thinking. Partner with strategists but does not abdicate strategy to others.
• Work with clients to advance their business needs and develop long-range communications and marketing plans. Grow existing accounts where possible.
• Advise senior agency management on the status of each business, client relationships and specific opportunities or problems.
• Ensure team enjoys high morale is appropriately rewarded, and consistently delivers superior work.
• Ensure that the Agency is associated with outstanding creative work that is both strategic and breakthrough.
Skills and experience:
• Outstanding ability to lead, convince and inspire in a client-service environment; superior listening, interviewing, meeting facilitation, presentation and writing skills.
• 10+ years of client contact experience in a digital and/or creative agency, communications or customer service environment; demonstrated impact on the communication and online strategy for major clients.
• Experience and a proven approach to building relationships that result in new, profitable revenue opportunities as well as driving incremental growth on existing work.
• High knowledge and expertise in digital – and personal perspective on – Internet trends and technologies, business and site performance analysis, user-centered design process, social, campaign work.
• Proven ability to navigate and leverage partners at scale (working with WPP partners/sister agencies is part of the ADs role)
• Proven ability to negotiate Statements of Work and contracts – effectively forecasting and scoping work with teams in close collaboration with Project Management.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and collaborate in a team-oriented workplace; fostering career growth for the individuals on their project teams.
• Accountable for $2.5M - $5M in revenue.
• Writing for publication or public speaking experience.
• MBA or relevant business experience.
• Specific experience with large technology clients in Internet initiatives, branding, business analysis.
