Wholesale - Manager Product Design (AFA Oakley)

Responsible for the product design in AFA Oakley for North America (USA and Canada) and contribute to the development and growth initiatives for the Oakley brand across all sport verticals, product categories and channels of trade. The role will be tasked, with interacting with the Oakley Product and Brand team, to understand the brand and its targeted core customers. This position will be charged with creating and managing sketches for new AFA collection including close collaboration with product developers, customers and product managers in Foothill Ranch (FHR) and Italy.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to perform designs through drawing, sketching, typography, spacing, scale, ideation, and concept
Logo, Print/Pattern, and Color Theory development strategy a plus.
Help managing process to ensure deliverables and timelines across global and local teams
Help presenting creative concepts and execution ideas with product leaders both internally and externally with account facing meetings
Cleary interpret project concepts through prototypes and comps
Deliver cutting edge create work
Work with cross functional teams to ensure continuity for categories and projects
Create content that can be used for multiple function and channels like print, Digital, etc.
Drive achievement of annual sales in AFA by developing In-Line product support as priority, and SMU opportunities for sales teams to drive overall brand recognition and market penetration; ensuring alignment with global brand direction.
Execute the GTM strategy together with all stakeholders (AFA, Global team and Sales) and leaders to launch new seasonal collections to the salesforce
Participate and merchandise key account meetings, trade shows and key channel event in both US and Canada meeting buyers and product teams for specific projects, collaboration and alignment on product / design language
Share seasonal priorities and highlights, gather account feedback and identify future opportunities.
Drive alignment and coordinate work with cross functional support teams to insure pro-active readiness for seasonal launches
Ability to translate briefs and collaborate with marketing plans to execute and commercially push creative concepts
Establish market research templates for feedback on trends to the global product team across the key verticals for each channel and develop sales/merchant market tours to gain key customer feedback across US and Canada.
Travel internationally (Milan HQ)/domestically to participate in line development and collection planning and visit top accounts, events and tradeshows.
Bachelor’s degree of Industrial Design from accredited college or university
+5 years direct relevant work experience in apparel graphic design
Solid foundation for use of textures, patterns, and color theory,
Strong visual presentation of work and layout a must
Strong understanding of apparel and product creation process
Strong understanding of screen printing, embroidery, appliqué, trims.
Knowledge of fabrications and silhouettes
Must be computer literate within Adobe Suite, Keynote, and PTT products
Ability to work on multiple priorities, changes, and business needs
Strong knowledge and Passion for Sports and Performance Apparel
Passion for creative storytelling
