General Summary
The Vice President of Market Development & Competitive Strategy drives the creation and execution of Company's strategic competitive programs and business development opportunities within the Central Division. Including competitive product development and packaging that enable Company to achieve marketshare objectives. This role will draw upon a thorough understanding of the marketplace and competitive dynamics to identify innovative approaches aimed at meeting the unique product and market needs of the Company website to success will be articulating a detailed and future oriented approach for Company to compete in a rapidly changing marketplace and how business opportunities can be expanded to maximize success. Accountabilities also include defining competitive market strategies to inform, develop, and deliver tactical programs that drive success, and deliver superior business results.
Principal Duties:
Market, Product and Offering Strategy
• Responsible for driving market and product offering strategy and design in support of profitable growth in increasingly challenging competitive environments
• Create an overall vision that optimizes opportunities for growing sales, including articulation of segmentation priorities, distribution and partnership strategies necessary to achieve marketshare objectives
• Develop annual and long-term marketing and competitive offering portfolio to achieve financial and growth objectives
• Leverage research, analysis, external market perspectives, and internal data to inform market, product and offering strategy
• Assess and identify ongoing competitive advantages of our product offering within the context of a rapidly changing marketplace that includes intense competition, rapid technological advancement and an evolving regulatory environment
• Drive thinking and recommendations for current and future offering and delivery capabilities required to meet the market and strategic actions necessary for achieving long term growth
• Partner with Marketing Analytics to transform data into actionable strategic objectives and plans
Business Segment/Brand Support
• Translate market and product offering into marketing plans that support the growth and business goals of our Xfinity brand in the market
• Identify key points of differentiation among our competitors that may require dedicated product and offering support to create strategic advantages in the market
• Serve as key resource that enables our regional operations to deliver appropriate local market response and communications support for their business objectives.
Market Expansion
• Identify and evaluate market expansion opportunities, including advancement of potential business and/or consumer segments, partnership opportunities, and technology options for the Central Division
• Drive work that develops the framework and work plans required to capture market expansion opportunities, including engagement with business and distribution leaders to develop pilot programs, highlight critical investment needs, and establish success measures
• Support work with key internal business and distribution partners that enables execution of targeted growth opportunities
Qualifications
Job Specifications
• A high degree of leadership, strategic planning and business acumen are required with a track record of producing strong results and making effective decisions
• Experience leading a medium sized or large, multi-disciplined market development and/or strategy organization
• Use of data and analytics to uncover strategic positioning, develop messaging, and inform qualitative plans
• Understanding of the role technology plays in meeting the needs of key constituents
• Strong negotiating, influencing, facilitation, partnership, and interpersonal skills
• Able to create a vision, drive change, promote cross-functional synergy
• Exceptional marketing and communication skills; able to articulate message/content for use in various marketing and distribution channels
• MBA degree or equivalent experience preferred
