Role Purpose
The VP Sales, NBC Network Sports will serve as a strategic leader working with senior management in all advertising and sponsorship revenue generation for Sports on the network. This position reports to the SVP, NBC Sports Group Sales and leads a team of Account Executives.
Responsibilities
Position NBC Sports Groups as category leader in all media to all customers including Agency, Client and Sports Marketing representation.
Develop a sales proposition that fully optimizes the value of content offerings and audience.
Create and execute overall ad sales, sponsorship, and integration strategy for NBC Network Sports’ relevant brand extensions.
Consult on the following: pricing & packaging, manage & control inventory, and oversee the development of special sales support, sponsorships, and other vehicles to secure revenue.
Identify new categories, generate leads and secure advertising agreements.
Identify and negotiate media and sponsorship deals. Help develop new business and negotiate large-scale integration platforms and revenue-generating strategic partnerships utilizing available resources on-air, off-air, online, and in-market.
Interact with the senior programming and marketing executives to set revenue-generating strategies that are commensurate with the brand’s attributes and objectives.
Partner/directly with the digital sales team to develop incremental and new revenue streams for interactive properties. Exploit all available platforms to maximize revenue opportunities, extend the brands, and fortify these identities with sponsors, partners, and the user base/audience.
Manage all day-to-day client/account interaction, including brand partners, media partners, agencies, corporations and other funding entities, production companies or producers.
Explore of various off-air and online sponsorship models as the networks consider complementary line extensions to their core digital TV businesses.
Help manage and lead a staff of sales professionals and support in New York and with matrixed management responsibilities in the national offices .
Liaise with Sales Marketing for Broadcast (NBC Sports), Cable (NBCSN and The Golf Channel) and all Digital and Mobile platforms.
Use NBC Sports Agency as an asset to partner with advertisers for creation of custom content as well as co-branded off-channel activation.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Experience selling Sports on both linear and digital platforms
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum 5 years media sales management experience
