Description:
The_Video Operations Manager_will be responsible for managing the ingestion, encoding and delivery of all 4K and HD video files in support of multi-platform product offerings. This role requires expertise in digital video processing including day-to-day operational support and will be instrumental in developing/executing new video workflows with both internal groups and with external partners. This position will have ultimate responsibility and oversight of the quality of the video streams and information being distributed to each platform.
Responsibilities:
• Successful management and delivery of all video content (both metadata and streams), to all platforms.
• Configure, develop, test and implement appropriate codec settings for video on-demand streaming
• Work with internal/external partners to obtain digital assets in a timely manner, to meet scheduled dates and provide video support to editorial.
• Upload videos and perform metadata entry for all videos flowing through the system, and related asset management and maintenance for video content - including organizing/maintaining digital repository of videos, images and closed captioning files.
• Conduct daily inspections of video streaming quality, perform QC on all streams prior to releasing to platforms
• •Create and maintain documentation of video workflows, from ingestion, to metadata management, to distribution
• Track delivery statuses, as well as respond to and resolve redelivery requests to the digital platforms in a timely manner.
• •Proactively look for operational efficiencies to be gained by streamlining workflows and engages operational area leaders to actualize.
• •Troubleshoot and track video issues through to resolution. Takes corrective action to mitigate potential and ongoing issues.
• Work closely with product groups and video groups to deliver a high quality of service for the video product
• Consult and help implement current and future video products. Facilitate the onboarding process of new digital platforms into our video workflow.
Qualifications:
• College Degree BA/BS in relevant field preferred.
• At least 5 years experience in digital media video operations, with demonstrated expertise in the above areas of responsibility.
• Solid understanding of common streaming protocols, compression technologies and OTT delivery.
• Exposure and knowledge of video, audio, and various other asset formats that include but are not limited to HD, 4K, JPEG, WAV, MOV, PSD, MP4, etc.
